Tommorow I am going to book my R.H. I am flexible with dates so that wont be a problem.
The only issue I am concerned about is Friday or Saturday night. I wouldnt mind having the reception on a Friday because it would start at about 8pm. AND, Friday is almost $20-$30 cheaper than Satruday night at most places I visited.
But I am concerned that it Friday, people will be tired from work, traffic, etc.
On the other hand I would be saving about $2000-$3000.
What do you guys think?? IS there any FRiday brides here and do you guys have concerns?
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Friday Brides
I'm doing a thurs night wedding.
the way i figure it, im saving $55 per head by doing this instead of a saturday, i have a lot of friends and family who are teachers like me, so they have off and as for others, if they want to come to my wedding, they'll work it out.
if its important to them, they'll make it. plus if you do a fri its not like they have to get up for work tomorrow.
my suggestion is to go for it!

Re: Friday Brides
Both of my cousin had her party on a Friday night and everyone still had a great time. People I think are used to Friday weddings now. I wouldn't worry if you book it for a Friday night wedding. You still have as much fun and people will still have a lot of energy either way.

Re: Friday Brides
i`m doing a friday night and my ceremony is at 6:30 with the reception at 8 i figure you are giving everyone enough notice that if they feel like they would be rushed they can take off or get out early. it`s a friday so they can just extend the weekend and for the most part not have to get up the next day!!!! GO FOR IT!!!

Re: Friday Brides
I am getting married this Sept. on a Friday. My wedding is actually a late wedding. I hope people don't leave but what are you going to do. It is def. a little cheaper and usually on a Fri. places can throw in more.

Whew. Thank you guys so much. Positive notes from all.
I am happy there are other Friday brides as well.. and Thursday's.
And you guys are right. ...it's not like they have to work the next day or anything.

Re: Friday Brides
I actually preferred a Friday over a Saturday. It gives people the rest of the weekend to regroup!! lol. And I agree with those that said people are used to Friday weddings by now. It's pretty common, so I don't think you'll have any major problems... The only people that might complain are people coming from OOT.
Do what saves you money. People who want to be there, will be there

Yep I am goin to have my ceremony at the place. It think it's easier that way. IT cuts time. Most places accomdate ceremony.
But like everyone said if you decide to have you ceremony in a church, people will be ther if they want to be there to see you get married.

Exactly. And if you're having it at the place, you're pretty much guaranteed a full house at your ceremony!

i'm getting married on a friday of the memorial day weekend. i have a lot of oot guests so this is ideal for all of them. as for locals, my friends don't mind.
you'd hear one or two people complain but hey, it's your wedding and if that day works for you then go for it.

I think that those who will make it on a Friday night or a Saturday night will make it....your loved ones won't care when it is, it'll be important for them to be there. I chose Saturday day because FH and I have tons of middle-aged to older family members and their bedtimes are at 9pm lol I didn't want 3/4 of our guests to leave before the party even started!

Oh God, there would be NOOOO living with my mother if I didn't get married in a church! I'm having it at a church and then my Reception is 4 hours later, so I know there will be lots of ppl who will blow off there ceremony and just show for the food!

yeah, but dont let that bother you. as long as the important people are there (for us, it's me, fh, and our parents)... enjoy it! i had a situation where the wife of my fbil complained and made a big stink about it. she was giving him a hard time and my fmil learned about it and yelled at her. do you think majority of your guests will be pissed off?

I think a Friday wedding is fine....your guest will have the rest of the weekend to rest and recover
