friday evening brides

i am toying with the idea of booking a friday evening to save some cash ... i know for certain the venue I want is a bit cheaper.

does anyone have any experience with vendors being cheaper on fridays? (DJ, photographer, etc). I am also planning to do off-season (winter).

Just curious before I start to make some phone calls. Thanks ladies!!

Crashing! I'm doing a Friday night and only the venue was cheaper. It would be nice if the vendors did that too!

I'm a Saturday night bride, but also a winter bride. You might not get vendor discounts for a Friday night wedding, but some vendors run winter promotions, so I would definitely ask about that!

i'm hoping for a little bit of a break because of the winter, at least! :)

i also just got quoted $2,300 for a DJ for 5.5 hours -- that seems a bit high to me. and no difference friday vs. saturday. this is the pricing for a winter wedding!

my venue, and i believe florist and photographer were cheaper. but that could've all been bs since they are 'house' vendors and they don't want to lose the business!

house vendors ... don't even get me started! i have a lot of sifting to do to get to the reality of that ... i need to do more research to find out if they are really a deal. doesn't seem like it.

I'm using Frank from FM Entertainment for our DJ. For 5.5 hours, we're paying $1,000 for a one-man dj/mc for our ceremony, CH and reception. But we're not getting up-lighting or any of the other dj upgrades. We just want him to make the appropriate announcements and play the music we ask for.

I didn't save anything from any vendors for having a friday night aside from my venue. If you can, offer to pay cash- I saved a lot that way with some of my vendors.

You definitely have to haggle prices no matter what day or time of year. I'm a Friday night bride and the venue was cheaper. We have not taken a vendor at the first offered price.
I bargained with the DJ, who happens to be a preferred vendor. They are doing a wedding there the following day so we were able to get them to cut the price because they wouldn't need guys to take the equipment at the end of the night.
Our florist is also a preferred vendor and he was the cheapest and gave us the most amount of flowers and decor and the best 'in case of rain' plan (even though we know that wont happen)! However, I do know other girls on here who got good deals from the same florist where he wasn't a preferred vendor so it's hard to say. With vendors it seems to be more of a 'lets make a deal' not so much what night are you getting married.

side note: I'm doing a Saturday Daytime wedding and it was cheaper than both fri evening and saturday night!
