that 3:30pm is too early to begin a ceremony and the reception is at 7:30pm? Do u think it will dramatically affect how many people show up?

I dont. Our Church is at 3 and the reception starts @ 7. But the Chruch is about 45 mins from the hall.

My ceremony is at 3:30 and the cocktail hour starts at 7pm. I think what you are doing is fine.

Re: Friday night wedding....do u think....
I think that having the ceremony so early, and then having the large gap between will greatly affect the amount of guests that attend your ceremony. For a close family member, I could make it, but in order for me to make it out to the island on a friday by 3:30, I would have to take the whole day off rather than just half a day. I actually like friday night weddings though, I think they're a great start to the weekend. If it will bother you to have people not show up at your ceremony, but show up later, then I suggest either starting your ceremony later, or chosing a different day.

I think on a Friday, you will have few people at your actual ceremony, and that everyone else will just go to the reception. It isnt easy for everyone to be ready to go to a wedding at 3:30 on a Friday.
However, the most important people to you will be there, and that is what is the most important.

I have to say I would attend - but I think you will find that if your reception is at 7 people will not take off of work to go to the ceremony but will just show up for your reception.

Re: Friday night wedding....do u think....
I know that unless it is a really close friend or a fmaily member I would not attend the ceremony. I would be able to leave work on time to go to the reception on time if it started at 7:30.
But if that us what you have to do then do it!!!
It is all about what you want to do, and what will make you happy.

Re: Friday night wedding....do u think....
Mine is on a Friday. Ceremony at 1 PM. Cocktail hour starts at 5:30 PM. We had to do Friday, couldn't afford anything else. This is the way it worked out. I can only hope people can make it to the ceremony. Most of our guests are local so I'm not expecting a problem.

I don't think it's a problem...but like some others have said, there are a lot of people who won't show up at the ceremony - due to either work or not knowing what to do in between. The important people will be there...that's what matters.
