i would try looking for a sunday night with a holiday on monday where everyone has off. thats what we did. the monday after is july 4.

I choose Sunday b/c as a guest, for a friday wedding you have to take off from work or rush to get ready. If it's a Sunday and you ge a little too tipsy you can always call in sick the next day..

I chose Friday night beause I do not like Sunday night weddings. If I go to a Sunday night wedding I cannot really drink and I am constantly concerned about what time I have to get up the next morning. I would much rather take a few hours off on Friday and then go to a wedding.
However, since you have a lot of out of towners, have you ever considered Saturday day?? Also, if you do a Sunday night wedding, your out of town guests most certainly will have to take off on Monday.

Unless the Monday is a holiday, I'd prefer Friday because it just feels like you can have more fun knowing that the next day is Saturday.

I had to make that choice too and I would have gone for Sunday but the church time was too late and there was only one time because of the mrning masses so I went for a Friday night. After thinking about it, I like Fridays better anyway because the guests wont have to keep looking at their watches thinking about work the next morning.

either way, the other person might need to take off friday or monday....
my wedding is on sunday night... ceremony in afternoonish hours. when would the ceremony be? my sisters wedding on a sunday night...ppl partyed and drank to the last minute. it was great. your guest will be having fun either way...

I said Sunday - I'll admit that I am biased because my wedding will be on a Sunday but here's my opinion:
I don't like Friday because it generally means taking time off of work and for both me and FH. Also, I'm tired from work and wouldn't be as party hardy as I would after a day of relaxing.
You could argue the same with Sunday as far as the wedding being late but it's people's choice to stay late and not go in on Monday. My ceremony is at 3 and the reception is from 7 - 1...people can leave early if they need to and I'll understand. My OOT guest will be there and so will I.

My wedding is on a Friday. And I know LI traffic on a Friday is hell, but I just prefered everyone being off the next day. Besides, most people I know usually get off on Friday's or can leave work early, during the summer.

if you have a lot of OOT guests, then neither is really going to be good for them. with a friday, they have to travel friday, possibly part of thursday. with a sunday, they lose their weekend to travel, and then have to take at least monday off.
i would say the lesser of two evils is probably the friday night. the OOT guests can head home saturday or sunday. with a sunday night, your guests are stuck having to take a day off from work.

Even though my wedding is on a Sunday (its a 3 day weekend), I said Friday. I'd rather take a friday off to go to a wedding then have the weekend to recoup and drive home, insted of running around all weekend then going to a wedding and having to take a monday off to drive back. Makes it seem like the weekend didn't happen.
