So i'm trying to decide between Fri night and Sun night (ending around 10 or 11)
I can see pros and cons of both. Traffic would be the biggest issue on Friday.

We are having a Sunday night wedding. Both FH and I get stuck at work ALL of the time and trying to be anywhere on a Friday night turns into a disaster! I think choosing between the two days depends on your guest list...more than half of our guest are from out of town and plan to take Monday off SO it doesn't matter that the wedding is on a Sunday. As for the rehersal dinner we are actually doing a late lunch (3:30) on Saturday b/c the church scheduled our rehersal for 2:30.

I say a Fri night.. or a Satur DAY wedding.. some places start around 2 or 3..

I did a friday night b/c most people have the next day off. I understand most people wont make it to the church but I was fine with that.

its really a matter of your own preferance....I hate answering questions like this cause its easy to offend. i am having a friday wedding but only because i HAD to have 2/20 no matter what...it was my great grandparents wedding day in 1927 and the date was significant...lol Personally....i would have wanted a friday or saturday first....i just like evening weddings on weekends best...for the formal issue...for the no work th enext day issue...and i wouldnt want the holiday weekend thing.... Of course not to offend but i dont want to go to a wedding when i can go away on a long weekend...unless it was a close friend or family member...jmo...but really...its up to you...if the money issue will help then pick sunday

we did friday - i say friday def over sunday, i dislike sunday parties - i rather rush to get there after work then have to go to work tired and hungover the next day

i say friday night. most people leave early on a sunday night... there were about 10ppl left on the dance floor at around 10p at a wedding i was at on a sun night...

i noticed your date was sept. if you can't make up your mind about a friday or sunday, why not change it to an 'off season' date to get a sat night - that could possibly be cheaper, but not as cheap as friday or sunday. just a thought

I'd personally rather go to a wedding on a Friday night. At least I could go out and drink and not have to worry about getting up for work the next morning!

I am having a Sunday night wedding but it falls on Columbus day weekend. I found that to be cheaper than a Friday night. If you do have a Sunday wedding, I would suggest that you send out save the dates so that people will see way ahead of time that they may need to take the day off. Point blank, the people who love you will be there no matter what day it is!!
I'd rather attend a wedding on a Fri night. I would be very annoyed with a Sunday night. Have you considered a Sat afternoon??

I couldn't have afforded a Sat night either. I picked the Sun night of Labor Day weekend, for the Mon off, and also for the tons of OOT guests we are having. If that wasn't a possibility I would have done it on Fri night.

Def. Friday!!!!!!!! I know personally, I am not going to want to drink as much and go all out on Sunday & then having work the next day. Sunday is my day to relax!

hey MOH!!!!
this is what our thoughts were before we chose sat night:
FRIDAY:
pro- our friends def party so it would be nice to have the next day off pro- its a 'weekend' night so people like to go out and party con- entire bridal party must take off that friday con- out of towners will have to take off to travel con- lots of people will miss the church due to being at work con- people are tired fri nights and dont like to stay out late (not saying names.. lol)
SUNDAY:
pro- no one has to take off work pro- lots of people can make the church pro- everyone has the whole day off so they will be well rested to party con- work the next day = ***** for drinkers con- school the next day is hard for the kids con- some people just dont like to go out sunday nights..
ok.... so they pretty much are neck and neck.. tough decision i know! maybe flip a coin!!! haha
