I am about to book and am getting excited and relieved.... I am looking at the first weekend of June 2012. The price difference based on the guarentee of people for Fri vs. Sat is about 6,000. Is it really worth it for same venue, same food, etc. - just 24 hours later?
I am leaning more towards the Friday...I feel like that 6,000 can go a long way to so many other things....
Are guests really inconvenienced by a Friday night wedding?
Thanks....

I think you have to do whats right for you.
If people love you, they will come.
Dont base the day you pick off what you think other will think.
Do whats right for YOU.

Well i'm on a tight budget; so i personally would say save the $6K and put it towards other things and go with the Friday date!
BUT it depends on your situation. I just think that can go towards other things. I like knowing i'm getting the best deal possible. I'd be like why pay that much more for the same exact thing just one day later?

save the money ... stick with Friday .... or even Sunday.
Just a note that if you get married in a church or whatnot and have the ceremony in the afternoon on a Friday, a lot of people may not make it to that (but may still come to the reception).

You definitely should do what's best for you and what you believe will work the best.

If you don't have a lot of OOT guests I don't think it's a big deal Friday or Saturday night. But if you do, I would go for Saturday...

I think it really depends on OOT guests, if you have a ton of them, then it might be inconveient for them to have to take a day off, and depending on ceremony time, some local people may not make it if they don't take off of work too. But if you have mostly local people, then go for it and save yourself a ton of money!

ITA. I've been to plenty of Friday night weddings of friends and families over the years and never found it to be too much of an inconvenience. Like people have said before, the ones who love you will be there no matter what and if anything, you may have to just realize that less people will come to the church on a Friday afternoon than a Saturday (if you are getting married at one).
I'm booked at the Woodlands too so believe me i totally understand the price difference! and I wish we were saving the extra money, but FH insisted on a Saturday night which works better for us since we have a lot of OOT guests.

Re: Friday PM vs. Saturday PM
I'm doing a Friday PM wedding, and while they're are some people that might have to rush home for work to make it, no one has complained or decided not to come because of it.
We used the money we saved by having a Friday PM wedding to splurge on a nice HM

I think so many people are used to Friday night weddings that it's not a big deal. I would put that 6k towards something else.

We're doing a Friday night wedding. We sent the STD's over a year in advance so people can take off work if they need to or leave early. If they still can't make it then they obv don't care that much lol. The important people will be there. I would save the extra money.

I think Friday nights are fine! 6k is a decent chunk of money to save- you can use it to pay for an entire vendor!! Just understnd some people might not be able to make it to the ceremony (depending how early it is)- however the ones that matter will be there!! I would definatly have no problem as a guest going to a Friday night wedding!

I'm going to put my deposit down on Friday this week for a Friday wedding in March 2012. I'm so excited and have no problems booking a Friday! I say save that money
