So we booked our wedding for a Friday in January... and FH comes home and tells me that he doesn't want to do Friday anymore. I don't know if he has been talking to people who said it was bad or anything, but I was a little thrown off. SO we called our BM who told us that it will cost us 9 dollars more and you have to guarantee 200 people. So the difference between Fri and Sat will be about 4000-5000.
Is this worth it? I mean I would rather get married on a Sat also but we thought it would be too much. What do you ladies think?

I'm getting married on a Friday night. At first I had some reservations about it, but I got over it. Your family and friends who care about you will be there no matter what! Also, I've been to a couple of Friday night weddings and the places were packed with people. I would save the money and use it for other things, like vendors and the honeymoon!!
i agree! after we booked i was having second thoughts. but i feel if people want to be there, they will be there! and save that money and use it on something else. i mean thats my photo and video right there!!!

i think that if u can afford it, it is def worth it, but if u cant, then a fri would still be wonderful!

No matter people will party...they will have an amazing time, whether its a friday or a saturday, day or night. The time of day and day of the week doesnt make a difference to your wedding- its the people that go to your wedding that make the party...the entertainment..and of course the bride and groom.
Do what YOU think is best and what YOU can afford. People will have fun no matter what.

I personally do not care which one. I think both nights are great! Plus, if you are going to save that much money I think it is worth having it Friday night instead. If money is not a factor then do what you want the most!

I personally would stick with a Fri. My wedding was on a Fri and it was great b/c the rest of the weekend was still ahead of us. I think that your guests will have enough notice so they can make arrangements with work etc. I had less people at my church ceremony b/c some had to work but I knew that going in to it. The people that meant the most though made sure they were there...which I think would be the case for anyone. Everyone was able to make it for the CH...We had only 1 no show.
To me it is not worth it to spend the extra $ on a sat...you could put that toward something else. I actually preferred a Fri over Sat in general and didn't only choose it just b/c of the difference in price.

I would go for Friday night! Like some of the other ladies mentioned, its a once in a lifetime event, so the people who care and love you, will find a way, if they truly want to be a part of your wedding. I even heard of people doing Thrusday night weddings ( I went to about 2 venues (The Riviera in Massapequa and Larkfield Manor in Northport) and they offered me a Thursday night, obviously its much cheaper). I am actually doing a Friday night wedding! I want people to PARTY, so in my eyes the night time will give that feeling/illusion! LOL. Good Luck!

A Saturday night is always nice. But you're inviting poeple to your wedding...they shouldn't have an opinion on what day it is, especially if it's going to cost you $5K more.
TA....it's YOUR wedding and YOUR decision. No matter what you do, there will always be someone who will complain so you need to do what is in your budget and what works for you and FH. In the end the ppl that will be there are the ones who love you and your FH and want to see you happy...they won't care if you are getting married on a Friday or a Saturday. So if it's a budget thing then keep the Friday night and if it isn't, then make the decision based on what you want to do. Keep in mind that it will be the same food, entertainment etc whether it's a Friday or a Saturday night, except for cost and change of day. GL If it was me I'd keep the 5G and spend it on something else...that's a lot of bucks to spend just to change the day!!!! JMO though!!

Go for Friday night and save the $$$... does the FH realized the $5k difference? That could be your honeymoon right here... I wouldnt change it at all
