So we booked our wedding for a Friday in January... and FH comes home and tells me that he doesn't want to do Friday anymore. I don't know if he has been talking to people who said it was bad or anything, but I was a little thrown off. SO we called our BM who told us that it will cost us 9 dollars more and you have to guarantee 200 people. So the difference between Fri and Sat will be about 4000-5000.
Is this worth it? I mean I would rather get married on a Sat also but we thought it would be too much. What do you ladies think?

A Saturday night is always nice. But you're inviting poeple to your wedding...they shouldn't have an opinion on what day it is, especially if it's going to cost you $5K more.

What about a Saturday day? That's what we did and it was great! You can always post-wedding party with the OOTers at the hotel (also what we did).
It really made it feel like a really looooooooong celebration, having the whole weekend to enjoy!

I'm getting married on a Friday night. At first I had some reservations about it, but I got over it. Your family and friends who care about you will be there no matter what! Also, I've been to a couple of Friday night weddings and the places were packed with people. I would save the money and use it for other things, like vendors and the honeymoon!!

If you dont care about the money then go for it, but if its an issue the truth is your wedding will be great no matter what day its on, its your wedding, fri sat sun, it doesnt really matter you can make it work no matter what and if the money is an issue go ahead and save it and have it on fri, either way its money you can spend on something else, maybe thing of something else to include that you and FH both want to include more than the sat night date.

I would go with a Friday night before a Saturday day b/c I feel like people party more at evening weddings, but that is just me.
That being said, I would keep the Friday night over Saturday night to save the $$

I wanted a Sat night too..but did a Fri and I was happy w that choice. Fri yes you may not get a 'full house' at the ceremony if you are at a church or temple....but the ppl who really care will be there! Plus 11 mths to get out of wk early or take a day off to share in your day. I still had over 100 ppl at my ceremony...plus it saved me 5k. Personally id rather use that $$ someplace else...

I went for a Saturday night but honestly, anyone who is important will make it a priority to be a part of your special day- regardless, of the day.
Just do whatever makes sense for you and don't listen to anyone else !

I'm getting married on a Friday (1) to save money but (2) we don't have enough people to fill a Saturday night! Make sure you can easily guarantee 200 people plus extras. if you are just inviting people to fill the head count, stick with Friday...
Also, its January (which obviously isn't as popular as, say, the summer) and they would probably be able to negotiate a smaller minimum for you.

We went to a Friday night wedding and it would've been an awesome day if we didn't have to go to a funeral before the wedding. I don't see anything wrong with a Friday night. Some people might not like the idea of having to leave work early, but they will get over it. It's your day.

Hey, Id say do Friday!! Its not a big deal day or night. Im having my wedding on sunday night and honestly those who care will come. I have been to friday and sunday weddings and I loved them.

if the wedding starts around 6:30-7, the most people would have to do is leave work a few hours early. friday weddings are fun, but it's something you would have to talk through with FH. if he really wants it, then you could figure something out.

It's your day, and the people who care about you will be there. Save the $5000, and use it towards something else.
