Friday vs. Saturday Weddings

Is it really that much cheaper to get married on a Friday vs. a Saturday. We're looking to save the most on catering and on a photographer althought we really want a good photographer and good food!

Please help ---Thank you!

Both are pretty high in price but from my shopping around I discovered that Friday weddings are slightly cheaper...

I'm concerned about Friday weddings inconveniencing the guests - but want to see where the biggest savings are I guess...

I think it depends on the hall. But also remember that aside from the per person price going up, Saturdays usually need a higher guaranteed minimum which also increases the overall price. When we went to look at one RH, the overall price difference from a Friday night to a Saturday was about $19 K

Friday weddings are usually cheaper than Saturday nights I believe. You can save some by getting married during the day on Saturday as opposed to the evening. Just a thought.

We were married on a Friday night and have no regrets!!! For us the difference was the 150 min instead of 175 min for a Sat.

what about a Sunday day or night wedding. That may be less expensive as well. Just a thought...

Friday and Sunday weddings are always cheaper - it's just how much money you will save and if it's worth it to you - I would say find your venue first or a few options and see what the differences are and if it's worth it - we wanted a more expensive place/date so compromised on night. .

I had a Sunday wedding (similar to Friday a little bit) and saved A LOT of money - my hall was a lot cheaper and had a lower minimum. saved a TON of money on my band and such. . my photographer was the same price but was still very reasonable.

I found Friday weddings to be ALOT cheaper than Saturday weddings. I felt Fridays would be an inconvenience for the guests, so I went with a Sunday wedding, which is slightly more than a Friday wedding but still cheaper than a Saturday wedding

I'm getting married on a friday night, and our ceremony and reception is from 7pm - 2am. We saved about $8,000 booking on a friday verses saturday. Plus our minimum was much lower. All of our guest are able to make it, because it is after the normal work day.

As someone mentioned before, not only are Fridays slightly cheaper than saturday, but the minimum gaurantee will be less and will be less expensive overall.

You might also want to consider a Sunday wedding, which is less inconvenient than a Friday wedding. We were going to go with a Friday wedding, but thought people will make it late trying to squeeze our wedding in after work. We doubted that many people will take the day off just for our wedding. So now we're doing it Sunday which also happens to be cheaper than Friday.

I am getting married on a fri night and it was alot cheaper than a sat and the gar number was about 75 less. My vendors were about the same but i did save on the per person fee and therefore i saved on favors and the number of invites also.

I dont think its going to inconvience anyone. If you give your guests enough notice they can make whatever arrangements need to be made for work so they can attend. I would say if you do a friday night make it late enough in the day so your guests dont have to take off work if they dont want to. Our ceremony starts at 8pm which will give everyone to get off at 5 or 6 and go home and change

well said... Sunday is def more feasible than Friday.. but nonetheless,im not touching Saturday.. we simply cant afford the extra cost for the day... esp since FH is hyped about an evening wedding.. Sunday or Friday is a go! but Saturday, no no !

for my hall the difference between a friday and sat night wedding was $10 go for a sat night wedding..it is just easier

I'm doing mine on a Saturday because I'd would rather people not have to take off a day from work or be exhausted during the party on the day of our wedding.

Yes the price difference is pretty substantial!!
it was $50 less pp for a Friday night where I had my wedding. Not only is the hall less but vendors are as well. Since there is more of a demand for Sat night, the prices are usually A LOT higher!!

We are doing a Friday night. If we had it on a Sat, we would have to guarantee 50 more people than a Fri night unless we took the smaller room. A lot of people work on Saturdays too. Either way, the people most important to you will be there.

I only looked at a saturday night because it was the easiest for my guest. I didn't want people to have to work half day or take time off or anything like that in order to attend my wedding. Then my reception is also no children. So then there was also the babysitter situation to consider for a lot of guests. Not too mention I have cousins coming from other countries. For everyone involved a saturday was just easier.
