Friday Weddings/Brides

Original post by hiswifey2011

How are you ladies planning your day? What time is your ceremony/reception? And how much time are you leaving in between for pics?

As of right now I had my ceremony scheduled for 5:00PM and my cocktail hour to start at 8:30PM. I scheduled it like that for those coming from work being that its a friday. Now I'm thinking its kind of late and with traffic getting daylight pics might be difficult ... what are you ladies doing?

Now seeing all of your replies I'm more convinced that my schedule is running too late. the latest your CH is starting is 7 ... my reception hall is booked for that time and I can only do 8 PM

Don't worry Yuleisy. Our ceremony in the church is at 430, then we're going to Old Westbury Gardens to take pics, and after that we're going to our venue. The CH starts at 830pm, we wanted to start at that time because our venue has what they call 'The Gardens' and it's gorgeous during the night so we wanted our guests to experience that place during the night cause it literally feels like u're in South Beach. So don't feel bad, ur time is not too late at all, plus remember this, people don't have to worry about going to work on the next day cause it'll be Saturday

Our ceremony is going to be at our RH so the invitation will say to arrive at 6:00. Ceremony is set to begin at 6:30 and CH at 7:00.

I will be getting ready about a half mile away from my RH and my photographer will be arriving at 2:00.

HTH!

I hope so! Im just getting alot of mixed opinions which have me confused ... If i do 6:30 i feel like people that have to work wont make it and if I do 8:30 i feel like its ending late and its also late for people to eat!

If they want to come, they will get a half day off or take the day off.. My friends had a wedding in Rhode Island on a Friday and there were plenty there that live in NJ and NY..

I know what u're saying, I was pretty worried about our time at the beginning too. But don't worry about the ceremony too much 'cause pretty much the people that can actually go to the ceremony are family and close friends. The CH and the reception ...yes, they might be eating a bit later but it's only 1 hr or 1 1/2 hr from the regular dinner time. Plus people will wait patiently...beleive me, especially if it's about food. It's ur and ur FH's day, so don't worry about anybody else but u two, make sure that whatever decision u take, it's because u and ur FH likes it, it's ur day girl, enjoy it

The Ceremony will be at 3:00 or 4:00pm and the Cocktail Hour starts at 7:30pm.

We are having it all at the RH the ceremony starts at 7 followed by an hour and half cocktail hour. The reception is at 9. It's little but it's a little late but I feel like it's summer and i don't think the guest will mind as much.

Our Ceremony at the church starts at 4:00pm and we are only having the ceremony not a full mass. Right now we have the cocktail hour starting at 6:00, but I am probably pushing it back to 6:30 to just give a little more breathing room in case the traffic is bad.
