How are you ladies planning your day? What time is your ceremony/reception? And how much time are you leaving in between for pics?
As of right now I had my ceremony scheduled for 5:00PM and my cocktail hour to start at 8:30PM. I scheduled it like that for those coming from work being that its a friday. Now I'm thinking its kind of late and with traffic getting daylight pics might be difficult ... what are you ladies doing?

Our Ceremony starts at 4:30pm and then our cocktail hour starts at 7pm. This gives us some travel time and picture time. We're taking our pictures at our RH. Also, we are skipping the receiving line at church, in order to gain some time!

our ceremony is at 430 but I'm going to see if I can push it back to 4. CH starts at 7 so I'm going with the full mass, receiving line and pictures that we'll catch some of the ch which is an hour and a half long

Our church (full mass) plus receiving line is starting at 4pm and then our CH will start at 730pm, this should give us a enough time to travel to our RH and take pics. HTH : )

Im doing the same thing. Our Church is at 4pm and CH starts at 7pm and we are also skipping receiving line to gain some time too!!

Our ceremony(church) is at 3:30pm and our cocktail hour starts at 7:00. I'm actually worried about the sunset which is probably around 6ish because I want to take pictures outside!

4:00 church- 7:00 cocktail hour they are about a 5 miles away from each other
Photographer said you should do 2-3 hours in between for pics

we're having our ceremony at the RH, So we are doing pics before the ceremony. Ceremony is at 6, ch is at 6:30.

our church is at 2pm and our cocktail hour starts at 7. However bride, groom and bridal party have to be at westbury maonr by 4 so we can take pics.

our church ceremony is at 4:30 and the cocktail hour is at 7:30 We are going to do pictures before the ceremony as well as in between. The plan is to get the majority of the pictures done before so we can just enjoy ourselves once we hit ch.

Now seeing all of your replies I'm more convinced that my schedule is running too late. the latest your CH is starting is 7 ... my reception hall is booked for that time and I can only do 8 PM

Do they give you 3 hours..I thought they had told us we could get there up to 2 hours ahead of time but I could be wrong..I've had so many conversations while I was there.

They told me 3 hrs. I'm the first wedding of the day maybe that is why?

Our ceremony is at 330 and reception starts at 7. I was worried about people coming from work too, but then plenty of people told me that if it ends really late people leave earlier. So if its over at 1:30 am that might be too late for people.
