Re: Friend Complaint
We've all got at least one!!!!! I have a cousin who didn't even invite me to her wedding but persists on telling me what I should do and gives me unsolicited advice. I know she thinks she's helping so I try to be nice, but I really don't want to hear it.

everyone has an opinion
I used to get upset- but now I live my this motto
no pay- no say!
This is definitely a good motto!!!
Best thing to do is just say things are coming along and keep it at that. I've noticed the less you say the better.

Does anyone have a friend already married that gives unsolicited wedding advice and negative comments on everything. Like she had a dj and she keeps telling me to use an ipod for the reception.
Also I should make my own centerpieces beacuse she did that.
You should just get your cake at the grocery store, nobody cares anyway and it is a waste of money.
I can't deal with her, I have stopped telling her anything about my wedding and avoid the conversation.
It sounds like she's trying to relive her wedding experiences vicariously through you! And using an ipod for your wedding? What kind of advice IS that? I'd keep avoiding the conversation and, if she persists, tell her point blank that you appreciate her input but would like her to be a bit more supportive if possible. Hang in there!

She sounds like she is trying to sabotage your wedding-is she the type that would do that?

its your wedding, do it your way..who cares what she thinks..dont bother wasting your time in telling her anymore..you can tell all of us your plans instead and we wont criticize unless you ask us to!

I find that everyone has a comment about weddings and are not ashamed to share them positive or negative!

Re: Friend Complaint
my older sister is like that! And the reason being -- they don't want us to OUT DO them! They want their wedding to be the best and they don't want anyone to top it with something similar, different or even better!
I say your day your way ! Don't let it get to you!

Re: Friend Complaint
Yup! I have learned........
When you are planning a wedding everyone is a wedding coordinator.
When you are having a baby everyone is a doctor.
And
When you are buying a house everyone is a retailer!
