I have a girlfriend who got engaged 2 weeks after me. No big deal, I'm very happy for her. What I AM annoyed with, is that she is doing the exact same color palate as me. Blush pink and champagne. I've had that picked out even before we got engaged. I'm having a June wedding. She doesn't even have her date picked out yet, but is leaning towards October. Those are the colors she's going to use?!? UGH. I mean...it's not a big deal...I know. Plus my wedding will be first. It's just frustrating that she's playing it off like she came up with these colors when I TOLD HER I was using them. Pink isn't even her favorite color. Her favorite color is yellow. AND she wanted to have her bridesmaids in all different colors with a multi-colored bouquet. She blatantly is just ripping me off.

ewwwww. that would get under my skin too but like you said, she's the one that's going to come off as a copy cat since you're getting married first.

I'm sorry, that sucks for you. I really hope she doesn't pick a date near yours. My MOH is getting married a couple of months before me but luckily we have totally different tastes/styles.

That's stinks... but one word of advice from here on:
don't discuss your wedding with her!
If it's true that she is pretty much making an attempt to copy-kat you, than her not knowing what you are doing might drive her crazy a little bit.

It's just hard because like right now she asked me if I'm doing long or short dresses. I don't want to NOT tell her, to just have her then say 'Oh I'm doing long,' which is what I am doing...and then it looks like I'm the one copying her, ya know? UGH. I'm like shaking I'm so mad.
Meanwhile, she just asked me my colors. I'm like 'Dude...I'm doing blush pink and champagne. You know this. I've had it picked out since before I got engaged.' She goes, 'Oh yea! I knew that!'

Aw, that IS annoying. My best friend got engaged a couple months before I did and she actually ran her colors by ME before setting her heart on them, even though she knew they weren't really my 'thing.' (Incidentally hers are also blush pink and champange, haha). I guess we are ultra considerate of making sure not to step on each other's toes.
Maybe you should start showing her stuff that you aren't actually using that you think she'll like to throw her off. Be like 'omg how cute is THIS!' Subliminal messages

3 of my BM/Best friends and I are all enagaged right now - 1 just got married last week and then the rest of us are july, october, november of 2011- We don't talk about every detail but when we ask we tell, bc obviously we aren't going to copy each other. We do have similar tastes naturally bc we are friends but each wedding is still going to be so different. Don't let your friend pull you into a bride war!!

Im telling you this is exactly why i keep everything on the DL!! I used to think that if i say it out loud people will not be able to copy me because I 'called it' but they play dumb!! I have had every baby name stolen from me and every idea for the wedding, so i keep my stuff hush hush!!
