Frustrated

I cannot keep myself under control with my diet!! I go the the gym 2-3x a week with some girlfriends but I never watch what I eat!! I get so frustrated with lack of weight loss, but I know its my own fault.... How do you girls stay motivated to keep your hands out of the cookie jar???

Re: Frustrated

I have been having the same problem. So what I decided to do was tell everyone that I know that I am on a diet (family, work and home). I told them if they see me going to eat something that maybe I shouldn't to remind me of what my goal is. So far so good. I also increased how many days I go to the gym I went from 2-3 to 4-6 times per week. I finally am starting to feel good.

I do the opposite, I watch everything I eat and don't go to the gym. I figure I have to do one or the other, because not doing either will def. not work.

I don't think of it as a diet, because then it seems like such a chore. I eat a lot of crap, but I do try to keep it all balances because depriving yourself causes you to binge.

I also just make the gym part of my routine. I've been going about 3~4 days a week for about 5 years now, so scheduling it works for me.

Re: Frustrated

Working out is just about the only thing I've been doing right lately, but it goes to show that I can't rely on exercise alone b/c I'm up 5lbs right now b/c I've had no discipline in terms of eating.

I'm a ww lifetime member and am now going back to weekly meetings. I already feel better--and more motivated.
In terms of working out, I have to do it first thing in the morning, other wise it never gets done. I joined a gym near work so I commute in my gym clothes and get dressed at the gym.

My FH and I use the 10 min rule when we don't want to workout. We say we only HAVE to do it for 10 minutes...9/10 times by the time 10 minutes is up, I'm into the workout and won't stop.

Also, I keep it interesting by varying what I do. Some days I'm at the gym for a class, others I'm on the treadmill or elliptical, and I have a big collection of DVDs from TaeBo to yoga.

ETA: Duh, I read it that you had the opposite problem. I'm in the same boat as you then.

I find that the more I post on LIW, the less I eat. It's hard to snack when you're typing!!

Other than that, I have no suggestions.

Dont feel bad, mine went out the window a long time ago. At least you go to the gym. Me I don't go like I should. I keep telling myself everyday to get motivated.

I am in the same boat as you. I have actually been good with the exercising this week. I was on vacation this week so I went to the gym like 5 days this week. But I can not stop eating! I snack too much when I am home. And I'm not seeing any diiference on the scale. I do feel better about myself tho. Just need to snack less.
