Frustrated

Frustrated

Is anyone else frustrated knowing that fact that its going to be so hard to buy a house, and while paying for that have children at the same time.... Whenever I think about it I hate it because I want both and I also want to be able to live a normal life, not feel like we have to skim the rest of our lives just to afford both of these....

Its to the point where I want kids, so the house to me isnt as big a deal as it used to be...

yeah we really wish we could have a house bc we are just wasting money on rent......but with our student loans and saving for the wedding its just not a good time..

after the wedding we will be saving for a house hardcore so we can get one before we start having kids.

We're the same way, but its hard because we both dont want to have kids to late... so I don't know... lol hence the title of the topic... FRUSTRATED

We're the same way, but its hard because we both dont want to have kids to late... so I don't know... lol hence the title of the topic... FRUSTRATED

yeah we want to wait 4 years or so before children so it gives us time to try for a house!

well, in MHO, I rather have the house and then the kids. If you rent, you sort of lose that money. When you have a house, you have something to sell incase you need the money for your family. I am def. waiting to have a house before kids....

thats why we arent having kids right away, among other reasons. we cant afford to keep our house and have expenses of a child. its hard enough having things go wrong and break (which ALWAYS happens) plus having animals is expensive too lol

Thats the way I've always felt but I dont want to be a 35 year old first time father where if I wanna play sports with my son I'll be able to and not have to worry about being to old to do it... I know my father slowed down a lot when he hit 40 and we didn't get to play as much...

Plus its weird because in my job I will have the ability to retire at the age of 40 with full pension and benefits for the rest of my life.... But if we have kids I'm not going to be able to do that because if we wanna send them to a private school or dance lessons, or baseball teams or whatever, I'm going to have to be working to pay for that... In that sense I dont wanna have kids at 30 because then at the time I can retire it'll be time for HS and College and there is no way I'll be able to retire...

Yeah, I want a house, a wedding, and within like 3 years..a baby..ugh..I will have to go to toys r us and buy a cabbage patch

where things currently stand in the economy, it just makes the situation more frustrating. its hard to live comfortably without a 2-person salary when you have a mortgage and kids...but the market is just so nuts right now it makes me think twice about a few things....

believe me, i know how you feels... tom has made our lives become Excel spreadsheets... keep us right on budget.

Hey I wouldnt go against that.... splitting a place in half isnt the worst part.... As long as me and John can both turn the basement into a Sports Cathedral LOL

Ehh I sort of put 'getting a house' on the backburner for a while to worry about paying back all these student loans after I graduate. We're getting married in 2010, I'm graduating law school that December, and like... I feel like if I save up for a house, and then have to worry about a mortgage, AND make a dent in my student loans, I will never be financially ready to have kids! So I think we will just worry about the loans, we have our dog, we have a spare bedroom in our apt so the kids will probably come first and the apt will just have to do until we're REALLY ready for a house.

we bought the house, but i really don't know how we are affording everything, seriously i don't know how its going to be, it is very frustrating to afford to live and do things

i'm all for the sports cathedral... but god knows what they would do to the rest of the house!!!
