We had an offer accepted on a house the day after Palm Sunday. TO DATE, we are still waiting for the seller's attorney to send the SIGNED CONTRACTS back to my attorney.

We signed them 3 weeks ago, and the seller signed them 3 days later, and WE STILL DO NOT HAVE THEM!!! I have my mortgage guy waiting by the phone to get my mortgage process, and my appraiser as well.

The worst part is, the seller's attorney has never NEVER called back my attorney for any reason throughout this whole process. I am really frightened, without that contract in my attorney's hands, we are at a standstill.

Updated: We ended up losing this deal. The seller wanted an extra month to move, but since our apartment is literally being ripped out of the house to make it legal again, we have no place to live. He would not give us any concession to move 2x and to be homeless for a month.....

Back to the drawing board

We are looking in Lindenhurst/West Babylon. We saw a couple last night & put a bid on one. It is at the top of our price range though, and we do not have a lot of negotiating room, so I hope they like us

Some attorneys make this whole experience horrorible. After our house is signed and sealed and offically ours I am writing a letter of complaint to the NY Bar Association about our seller's attorney. She doesn't even return her own clients calls let alone my attorneys. We have been going through this since January!!!

OMG, I can relate. Th attorney did not even call us to let us know what was going on...he had the seller call me broker

Good for you - complain to the BAR maybe some standards will have to be met

Sorry you lost the house. Something better will come along. I live in WB now (parents have lived here for the past 30 years.). I'll keep an eye out in my neighborhood. Are you looking at any specific neighborhoods in WB?
