Frustrated...blantant post to extort hugs...MORE DRAMA

We had an offer accepted on a house the day after Palm Sunday. TO DATE, we are still waiting for the seller's attorney to send the SIGNED CONTRACTS back to my attorney.

We signed them 3 weeks ago, and the seller signed them 3 days later, and WE STILL DO NOT HAVE THEM!!! I have my mortgage guy waiting by the phone to get my mortgage process, and my appraiser as well.

The worst part is, the seller's attorney has never NEVER called back my attorney for any reason throughout this whole process. I am really frightened, without that contract in my attorney's hands, we are at a standstill.

thanks for letting me vent

Updated: We ended up losing this deal. The seller wanted an extra month to move, but since our apartment is literally being ripped out of the house to make it legal again, we have no place to live. He would not give us any concession to move 2x and to be homeless for a month.....

Back to the drawing board

Do our sellers have the same atty? Their atty never returns our atty's phone calls either. It is the most frustrating thing! Just pick up the damn phone!!!!!

Here's a hug! The process of buying a house is unbelievable at times! I feel your pain! For my current home, we waited 3 months for the contract b/c the place was in a trust and the family was fighting over it. We knew it was worth the wait though!

Since it sounds like the attoney is holding things up, not the seller, would it be possible to have the real estate agent talk to the home seller? If the home seller calls the attorney maybe they can get the ball rolling, after all the seller is paying the attorney. Good luck and hang in there!

I know this process is torture. We also had to wait 3 weeks to get the signed contract back from the sellers. But it all worked out and it will for you as well.

House hunting/buying/selling S U C K S!!!

When I bought my place, the seller took two weeks to sign it, then wanted to close right away, didn't give me enough time to get a mortgage, and the EVIL real estate agent called me TWICE a DAY EVERY day for 2 months, I used to cry when I saw her number on my phone, because she stressed me out SO much!

Thats really annoying. But it does not necessarily mean bad news is imminent.

we went through almost the SAME thing. our offer was accepted in januray, we signed the contract late feb and she finally signed mid march. the seller's attorney was stalling so that both contracts (sale and purchase) was signed at the same time. he constantly gave us (our attorney) the run-around. we (our attorne) finally told him that if it wasn't resolved by X date that we were pulling out.

hang in there.

hmmm, maybe that is what he is doing, b/c he is also the atty for the guys purchase of his new home.

Ugh, well at least I am not alone...not that I revel in other's misery..but it gives me a glimmer of hope that all is not lost
Thanks all for the hugs
