Frustrating Vendors *angry fist*

Frustrating Vendors *angry fist*

I work a billion hours a week (okay 46). I also have 2 small boys to take care of and a FI and family and friends and a house.

I do NOT have a lot of time to go visiting all over the place to see places or meet with people - especially if there is NO WAY that they are going to be able to work with me on what I need and want. I can't really call at work and at home I am generally surrounded by chaos and trying to talk on the phone is ridiculous!

So I e-mail. My wedding is going to be in the first half of 2007 so my first concern is - will the vendors have the dates available. Cause if not.. why bother? The second is - do you think there is anyway you can work with my budget. Not asking for an exact quote - just an idea as to if I am even IN the ballpark.

Some vendors are AMAZING - Jacqueline Nicole wrote me right back (she isn't available on 2 of the preferred dates, but would be glad to work with me on the other 2). Barbara from Willow Creek wrote me back on her DAY OFF! I really look forward to meeting with her. Giorgio's was responsive and I am really interested in maybe working something out with them as well.

A bunch of others? No response. None. Not a peep.

Why bother having an e-mail address if you aren't going to reply? And even if you look at my e-mail and think that you can't work with me... TELL ME THAT! Lovin' Oven wrote me back and said that their quote was out of the price range that I gave them, but still gave me information. I will be using them for corporate parties and recommending them to clients from out of town who need to book facilities on Long Island because they were so gracious!

*sigh* Anyway... I just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening!

It's ridiculous!! Audrey's bakery and I ONLY conversed over email, and I got my groom's cake from them! It was so easy and convenient, especially since I'm an OOT bride. Why can't everyone be like that?

I agree...it is annoying when you send an email and get nothing. I don't like speaking on the phone b/c I feel initimidated wtih my accent to talk to someone with a thick, strong NY accent....so I prefer emails. If a vendor took too long getting back to me...they were out of the picture even if they had a better deal!

Furthermore, I even called and left messages with several vendors and never heard back..not even a courtesy 'i'm booked that day.'

Best of luck to you...it is hard to work, raise a family and plan a wedding...especially in the summer months when a weekend appt. is considered obsurd b/c it's wedding season and well, they're too busy to have serious meetings with bride-to-bes.
