Full mass vs. ceremony

Can anyone clarify what the difference is between a Catholic mass and ceremony? I heard a ceremony is the same thing minus communion. IS this true?

Yes, the only real difference is that there is no Eucharist.

Yeah from my knowledge and what our priest explained, you are right. The full mass is actually more traditional but if either party has ever been married or one has not had communion or is of another religion then you only have the ceremony. HTH

we had a full mass, and yes the other posters are right about communion. and contrary to what people think, it was only another additional 10 mins. My church started at 3, and we were done by 3:45

Yes, the full mass has Communion, that's the only difference between a mass and a ceremony
