FUMING MAD

So... my FMIL just texted me and told me that if I dont put my FH is a black tux and he just wears the tan suit that he and I both want the colors to be... that it is a trashy wedding... and that the guests will look nicer then him.

i am sooo angry

my girls are in navy dresses.... and i would rather the guys be in tan suits... its nOT a formal wedding... i just dont get it!

I would stand my ground. THere are some things I am willing to compromise but this is just ridiculous.

You guys are showing your own style and personality. She needs to get over it.

If you and FH are thinking of relenting, just make sure you won't look back in a few years and wish you had done it your way!

I'm doing khaki suits as well. There is nothing wrong with it and there is nothing out there that says you have to wear a black tux.

Do what you and FH want. It's not her day, not matter how much she may want to believe it.

Well to be totally honest the way that she didn't wasn't that nice... Instead of texting it and saying bluntly - your wedding will be sub-par or whatever she said, she could have grabbed a cup of coffee with you (Gaby) and just talked about what was on her mind...

You could totally tell her that, be like hey if you approached me in a different way about it maybe i would have taken it into consideration but since you decided to bash my taste through a text ummmm good luck seeing your grandkids!

There was a thread here, posted just today from a 2009 bride who put her review up.
all her guys wore tan suits including the groom.
please check out her pics b/c the guys looked so great in them!

tell her that you'll think about it and if she keeps asking about them tell her you haven't made a final decision yet. when its too close to the wedding to change anything, like the week before or soemthing, if she asks, tell her what you went with. case closed. can't make a change now.

if you want to put an end to things now, just let her know that that is her opinion but that that is the color you are choosing for the guys and would you appreciate it if she would keep her opinions to herelf. and tell her FH to tell her this. you stay out of it.
