Fun ways to incorperate the METS!!

Hi Ladies,
FH is a HUGE Mets fan!! Does anyone have any ideas for how I can bring some mets stuff into the wedding. I was thinking a cake topper but the personalized ones are 300 and up which is a bit much. So if anyone has an unique ideas or knows a site for affordable personalized cake toppers please let me know!

Wait, are we marrying the same guy? My FH loves the Mets too. When I asked him what colors we should use, he said blue and orange. Then when we were doing our budget, he said to include money for Mr. Met's appearance fee.

I like the garter idea!

You can always do a Mets favor. I went to a party where they had NY Mets cookie. All you would have to do is go to your bakery with a Mets logo and see if they can make them for you.

one of FH's friends had save the dates made that looked like real game tickets. i don't know where or how, but they were a great idea and so original

Instead of numbering your tables regulary, how about printing out like a Mets pinstripe and using table numbers like (for example)

Actually, this sounds like a GREAT idea. You could even do like Mets all time greats and their numbers - not just current players.

I would definitely do the table numbers like this, then the Mets garters (I'm doing these as a surprise to FH), and instead of a custom cake topper, maybe you can get a Mr. Met bobble head doll.

An LIW bride had Mr. Met come to the wedding as a surprise to her hubby and it was a big hit and very cute.

The table # idea is great, I knew about the garter but I'm not sure if I want to do a garter toss. Does anyone have any idea how much it would be to have Mr.Met make an appearance? That would be fantastic!!!!!!!

I think I remember reading it's around $500 for Mr. Met to make an appearance.

As far as baseball themed ideas, you can always send an FM to Tara- GettinHutched- she's doing a Yankees theme and has some really cool ideas!!!

FH and I are both HUGE mets fans and I was hoping to suprise him by having Mr. Met do an appearance at the wedding...but I really want to do my rehearsal dinner at Shea and watch the game afterwards. Hopefully they will be in town ::fingers crossed:: Thats how we are going to try and incorporate our favorite team of all time!!!

hi there! As Helen said, yup, I'm doing a Yankee theme!!

you can get personalized cake toppers here:

Here's what I'm doing for my theme:
I'm using Yankee colors- navy and white. (you can see the dresses/flowers/invite in my photo albums)
Naming and numbering tables after players.
Placecards are Yankee tickets with bags of peanuts and cracker jacks attached to them
Navy and white penants instead of ribbon wands!

I can't believe I'm helping a METS FAN!
Teasing...

Now if you were a Red Sox fan, that'd be a whole other story!

HAHA I said FH was a Met's fam I am a RED SOX fan lol! We currently live in Boston but the weddings on LI where our families live and where we grew up! But your helpin out the FH.
