Hi Ladies, FH is a HUGE Mets fan!! Does anyone have any ideas for how I can bring some mets stuff into the wedding. I was thinking a cake topper but the personalized ones are 300 and up which is a bit much. So if anyone has an unique ideas or knows a site for affordable personalized cake toppers please let me know!

We are playing 'Meets the Mets' as our entrance song....and I like the garter idea, that would be such as cute surprise!

my FH is a huge fan, too. We split season tickets every season - we're coming in to a really jazzy version of Take Me Out to the Ballgame, I'm either wearing Mets garter or Mets undies...I'm thinking of getting a Mets grooms cake...
Its about $2500 for Mr. Met to come to the wedding. I've priced it - but wow, its just too much for me. I'm considering calling some costume places (my uncle's SIL owns a party company) to see what they can do about getting a 'fake' Mr. Met.
We'll see!

grat ideas girls.. i want to suprise FH with somethign cute mets stuff simethign thats NOT to big but simple and sweet.
i think we will do the enterance song to entersandman.. but that table idea is a good idea... im sure i can work somethign out that will blend in and make a statement.

As someone else said, the grooms cake can be Mets related
Also, at my friends wedding, the bride was a HUGE Yankees Fan and more specifically, a HUGE Jeter Fan. her Dh got her a surprise life sized jeter man- like a huge cut out one- it was a cute idea...she loved it...and 'jeter stayed the entire wedding! : )

We are having a Met-tini at the martini bar during cocktail hour... we got engaged at the MEt Yankee game last May, so mets had to fit in somewhere

HAHA I said FH was a Met's fam I am a RED SOX fan lol! We currently live in Boston but the weddings on LI where our families live and where we grew up! But your helpin out the FH.
I know a couple that was Yankees/Red Sox...lived in Boston, got married in NY and did the cutest baseball STDs!!!

I love the ice sculpture!! We were beginning to worry that they couldnt put a log on an ice sculpture!! I have been searching the internet trying to find an Islanders one or something similar to give to them to try and copy!

i know a bride and groom who had a destination wedding on a beach in mexico... They put bases down and ran the bases at the end of the ceremony!!!!!

Is there a stadium song they specifically use at Shea, maybe your BP can come out to that? I like the garter suggestion! You could do a donation favor and donate to one of the Mets' Charities, I don't know any off hand....

HAHA These are some great ideas girls! Thank you sooo much! I really like the idea of the garter and coming out to meet the mets! I still am really thinking about having Mr.Met come if its between 3 and 5 hundred so if anyone has any more info about him let me know!

My cousin and her husband had a Mets and Islanders themed wedding... The BMs wore navy dresses. The GMs wore orange ties / vests and a Mets or Islanders pin on their lapel. The tables were named after players. They gave out foam fingers with their name / wedding date on it and their favors were bobblehead dolls they had made. My cousin was in a Mets uniform and her husband in an Islanders uniform. (Uh, I have to say, though - not a great favor idea... No one I know wanted to keep bobble head dolls of them with their wedding date on it around...)
Anyway, there are tons of ways to incorporate the theme into your wedding -- although many more subtle than my cousin's! (It was a REALLY fun wedding, though!)

DH works for the organization, and to pay 'homage' I had a groom's cake made for him:
