Last night we had a 2.5 year old come with his 7 year old brother to trick or treat. The 2.5 year old tried to get in the door to play with our cat! His little brother had to carry him off crying, because he wanted to play with the cat. It was adorable.

I guess my nephew wasn't the only one.
He tried to get into everyone's door to take a tour of their house. My sister had to keep calling him back.
One lady had a big St. Bernard dog and he asked her 'I play with dog?'
I guess he's old enough to grasp part of the concept, but not all of it.
We asked him on Halloween Eve what tomorrow was and he said 'Santa comes and brings presents'
ETA: tonight I got him a drink of water b/c he was coughing and he said 'A Heineken, please' (there was a six pack by the fridge) I told him he had to wait until he was 12

lol haha i had a little girl who said she couldn't have chocolate.. and that was all i had so she just stood there, so joking around with her i said okay well then i guess you can have my little dog.. and she walked into my house! she really went to go get my dog! lol.. it was hilarious.
