funny call from a vendor last night

I forget the name of the company, but this DJ/Entertainment vendor called us last night. When I answered, he actually thanked me for picking up the phone! Then he asked if we booked a DJ already because they wanted to know if it was ok to send us a brochure in the mail. I thought that was so sweet of them to ask before flooding our mailbox. So I told him we already booked FM and he wished us good luck on everything.

Then, he said 'ok. well bye..we'll speak again soon............actually..we won't' and he started laughing I laughed too. He was so nice..wish I caught his name!!

Yes my mailman is sweet though about it- anything overflowing my box he actually comes and delivers to my job (I work about 5 minutes from my house and also up the street from the post office..lol)
He only does the larger catalogs and stuff.. I hope he knows he's going to be getting a nice tip this holiday.

But that was nice of them asking before they sent anything to you... most just send away.

Yes he is the best.. my building where I live is like 4 buildings in one (total over 1,000 tenants) so it's a big job for him. The building is literally his entire route unless he's doing overtime for another mail carrier. The tenants are really picky about the mail and we went through about 4 mail carrier before they all 'decided' on Grover -my current mailman.
He is the only mailman that really goes out of his way to get the job done.. we all wrote to the local postmaster singing his praises and I think he got some sort of award for it.
He even implemented a really cool system on delivering packages.. he gets the persons phone number (if they willingly give it to him of course) and he calls them from his personal cell phone when he's in the building for them to pick up the package. That saves a bit of time for him running up to see if the person is home. We also have the packages stored now in the mailrooms of the building so that the people dont' have to trek to the post office to get the package.
Sad thing is we know exactly when he's on vacation because that's when the mail gets really messed up..lol.
He is great though.. I wish more were like him.

Re: funny call from a vendor last night

It was probably Steven Charles Entertainment. I got a similar call from them...and then several more...then I met with them and got several more...then finally I got a 'courtesy call' lettin gme know he was meeting with someone else for our date and wanted to know if I wanted to make a move before he did...I didn't want to. I know he was being nice- but it was kind of overkill.
