funny email convo with fh .....with a question

fh: So I was thinking about the garter thing on the way to work this morning and wondering if it's worth doing? Are you set on doing it? I was just thinking about weddings I have been to where its done and sometimes its good but sometimes its just awkward. What do you think?

me: i dont care. i bought my garter and everything but i guess we don't have to do it.

fh: Maybe even I can still take it off and just not toss it?

me: what's the point of that?

fh: I don't know. So I can touch you in public?

ok so now my question is.....what do u ladies think about the garter toss? We have both been on the fence about it but i bought a cute penn state garter so i figured i'd just do it. now we arent sure.

either way i am def doing bo-k toss? should i skip the garter?

If it doesn't matter to both of you, don't do it! You don't need it. He can still remove the garter if he really wants to go up your skirt in front of all your friends and family.

I am personally not doing the garter - I just think its so uncomfortable and I don't know, its just weird imo........most of the girls get embarassed to be up there.....

you can still wear it and he can take it off at night.......

ETA: most of the girls at the party are engaged, married or just in really serious relationships.....don't need my 13 year cousins catching it and having one of FH retarded friends putting it on them

I have a garter and will wear it (I guess to be traditional) , but I'm not doing either toss....

If you're gonna go the bo-k toss, then people will expect a garter toss (i think). We're not gonna do either though.

We just decided this weekend not to do it. Almost all of our guests are married or in very serious relationships. I can only think of about 6 girls that are actually single..........

ETA: I am wearing a garter though.....it's my something blue / borrowed from FMIL.

We're doing the bo-k toss but not the garter. Most of our friends will be married by then so there won't be that many people to get up there and his friends are savages and will probably do something embarassing and inappropriate anyway...

at my cousin's wedding she did only the bo-k toss and it didnt seem weird. i think its cuz girls love doing that stuff.

IMO I wouldn't do without it, I love when they do the garter and bo-k toss and all that fun stuff. Everyone cracks up, and it's just a fun part of the wedding that I would definitely want to do.

i bought a garter set as well... we arent doing the toss... but im using the garter more for bpics... i doubt i will wear it that day... im sure it will bother me

we are not doing the garter toss.

we do not like the idea of FH crawling up my dress in front of all of our family & friends. this is just something personal with us. we don't even kiss in public.

at my brother's wedding, my 13 year old cousin caught the garter, and my SIL's cousin's GF caught the bouquet and was VERY inappropriate with him (like grinding) and it was like really uncomfortable for everyone.

so i am avoiding all that!
