Funny Fashion Trend of the Day

....................................the Fanny Pack!

Fiona Apple's new song has a line referencing the fanny pack (). I still can't believe I wore these (although they were practical!)

Wickipedia - A fanny pack [also called, in the USA, a fag bag (offensive slang)], belt bag, butt bag, waist pack , belly bag or bum bag (in the United Kingdom and Australia) is an accessory often worn by travelers. It is a small pouch-like bag that ties or snaps around the wearer's waist and usually contains a zipper. In addition to travelers, Wrestlemania champion Hulk Hogan often wear a fanny pack.

The name differs because in the US the 'fanny' is the 'arse', while in Commonwealth countries the 'fanny' is a *female body part*

Side Note: The fanny pack Wickipedia entry is a 'stub' which means if I knew anything about fanny packs I could write more and be a part of Wickipedia (tempting....)

'Wrestlemania champion Hulk Hogan often wear a fanny pack.' Why is this in wikipedia?

I have to hear this song!

Seriously! Worst WIckipedia entry ever. There is no segway - just a random Hulk reference. A picture would be nice

I haven't heard the song yet, but I read about it on like 3 separate celeb gossip sites!. Must...hear...song.

I'd edit that fanny pack entry but I'm afraid that's not my area of expertise.

yeah I got all excited that I could be a part of Wickipedia, until I realized I know nothing about fanny packs.

But would you really want to know about them in such detail that you could write an entry about them?
Maybe you can do a write up on chai?

Omg, I remember my pink and purple fanny pack of the early 90's!!!!! Flashback!!!!

My mom still uses one, like you said it IS practical!! She tried to get me to take one on our HM Ahh moms, gotta love 'em!!

Thats because anyone can go in there and add anything they want. So someone probably put that random comment in there. You could go ahead and take it out if you want to!
Thats why wikipedia is not the most reliable source.

Since anyone can edit, I might add in that Hulk and SUZBRIDE wear fanny packs!

Shhhh - don't be giving away my secrets. Where else would I keep my scrunchies and pink sparkly dildo for trips to the Eiffel Tower!?

(or was it Empire State Building?)

How could you forget?? (Yes, I'm a loser and I saved it in my notebook for those times when I need to laugh )

Girl #1: So where's Matt?
Guy #1: I don't know, is he outside?
Girl #2: I don't think so...
Matt: Hey everybody! I'm back, I got the dildo!

--Top of the Empire State Building

Duh! I guess the Empire SB makes more sense since it was from Overheard in New York - I am having an overwhelmingly genius day

Ok that quote just made my day - again. It is pure genius. I heart Matt for bringing joy to my life and most likely countless others

Yeah - I don't remember how the dildos came up again. I think I'm responsible for the hijack - I too forgot how a post about fanny packs led to that!

Hmm interesting... Hulk Hogan and fanny packs
