Hi - My fiance and I are setting up our apartment and we need furniture, pretty much everything. Any ideas where to go to get the best prices, good quality furniture. We went to Route 110 and looked around a lot but I would like opinions on where others have bought stuff. We would like a leather living room set and also need kitchen table & chairs.

We got our living room furniture on route 110, our kitchen table at a dinette store in bayside queens.
We fell in love with a formal dining room set at JD Brauner in carle place and a bedroom set in drexel heritage. we didn't get them yet. on the newlywed board there is a link to a furntuire mecca in NC that has some great buys. From what I understand their prices can't be beat -- including the shipping costs! I think it was posted in the last 2-3 weeks.

You might also consider Crate & Barrel for furniture. My brother and his wife got some nice things there.
try levitz and macys by roosevelt field..levitz is affordable, but not as well made as others...macys furniture outlet behind fortunoffs has some good deals...also check sundays newspaper...they will have some circulars
We ordered an entertainment center from levitz and their service/delivery is absolutely AWFUL! It was a 3 piece unit - 2 of them were broken and had to be replaced and they were very uncooperative about it! The furniture actually damaged our hardwood floor and as of yet they have done nothing about it - that was in June!
Yes the link was to Furniture Land South. I have used them twice so far and could not believe the savings.
Christine did you check the price savings on the Drexel BR? I bought one Drexel piece through them and saved a ton. Just Curious about your experience.
My fiance just bought a 6-pc sectional from there and they left the plastic and cardboard from EACH piece ALL over our lawn & driveway!!!
I would suggest checking www.bbb.org before visiting ANY company. I found out after the fact that Rooms Unlimited had something like 38 complaints in the last 36 months!!

No, I haven't really checked it out. I just bookmarked Furniture Land South for the future. I have only heard good things and great savings ordering from NC.
I have heard such horrible things about Levitz lately - that's such a shame b/c they are so reasonable in terms of pricing.
Rooms Unlimited used to be called Nanrich Furniture and I believe it still has the same owner. They had a terrible reputation under that name also. A friend of mine worked there and said that it was common practice to give people seconds(damaged or defective) when they thought they were buying new. I would absolutely stay away!
