Where did you buy your dining room set? We are going shopping this weekend! What are the best brands, in your opinion? I am looking for my 'real' set so I want to spend $$ to get something good.
Thanks.

Re: Furniture - Dining Room
I haven't purchased mine yet, (waiting for my floors!) but I found it online first, and then tracked it down to Seigerman's. It's a contemporary set in washed oak by Stanley. I know a lot of people who have had good luck using online furniture discounters like furniturefind.com, and furniturefan.com.
Good luck!

Re: Furniture - Dining Room
Definately buy on line. www.furniturelandsouth. com
We shop here find what we want and then track it down on line. The only mfg. I have not been successful with is Thomasville. I have saved big $$ on Drexel, Sumter and Kinkaide. This is all first quality merchandise the same stuff you are buying up here but without the LI overhead. Shipping is about the same as purchasing locally plus there is sometimes no sales tax. The only thing you dont get is financing deals. The last time I used Furnitureland South you I think I paid 50% on order with a credit card and the balance in cash or cert check. Happy Shopping!

Re: Furniture - Dining Room
We saved HUGE money by buying from a dealer in South Carolina. If you know the model number and all the details you can save sooooo much money. Let me know if you need her #.

Re: Furniture - Dining Room
We searched EVERYWHERE, and we finally went to RT 110 in Farmigdale, and looked, and found a place called Nostalgia Oak. We weanted an oak dining room set. Its not too casual, but not too formal. We loved what we found there, and even found this oak bar set.

try getting the name of the manufacturer and buy online from North Carolina. Much cheaper (my MOH did this) and free shipping! She saved a total of $3k! good luck.

Re: Furniture - Dining Room
I tried to get Thomasville through the Carolinas but no luck unless you are willing to make a trip down there. I dont know if buying Thomasville at a Carolina showroom would cover your cost of the trip. They do have beautiful well made furniture.
