Hit up Macy's clearence center on GlenCove Rd, right across from Roosevelt Field. Lots of great not too expensive finds. Plus there are some other furnature stores on the road not too far from there. Best of luck!

Re: furniture shopping

Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn (which has an outlet in Tanger), and sometimes you can get some nice stuff at Thomasville that is contemporary (not much but what they have is beautiful). We got our bedroom set at Thomasville b/c we wanted the drawers to be tongue in groove and the set is beautiful!!! So well made too!! It is called Retro Ve-dark wood, clean lines, platinum hardware (yes, we splurged )

Congrats on the new home!!!

try restoration hardware.

www.restorationhardware.com , I also like pottery barn. www.potterybarn.com

I'm also looking to furnish a new home but b/w the wedding and purchasing the new home. I hope that my FH and I wont be sleeping on blown up furniture when we move in. LOL.

Re: furniture shopping

The Place in Farmindale on 110.
There are a bunch of discount stores all up and down 110, as well as the well known ones: Huffman Koos, Ethan Allen, etc.

Stacey, CONGRATS!! Where is your new home??

Everyone already mentioned most of the stores I can think of. I have a *weakness* for Ethan Allen, but they take a long time to deliver. There's a Drexel Heritage on Merrick Ave in Westbury.
