What are some furniture stores that you have had good experiences with. I saw a few things at the place. But not sure if they are a good store or not. How long did it take to get your furniture?

Thomasville in Bayside L A Z Boy on Glen Cove Rd.
My furniture has been here for weeks! I am waiting to move in March 1st.
Good Luck!
Also my FILs bought a new living room set from the Place and had it within a few weeks, just before Christmas too. HTH

Re: Furniture Stores
Ethan Allen in Lynbrook- FH's parents bought us a whole new bedroom set from there- was a bit expensive but the service and everything can't be beat- we got our furniture in a month because they only make it as it's ordered - was supposed to be 6 weeks but it was done early.
If you go to the Lynbrook Ethan Allen we dealt with Chris- he was really nice and they also come to your home to measure everything free of charge.

Re: Furniture Stores
We had great experiences at Raymour & Flanigan and they have sales fairly often, too.
We want to check out Bob's Discount Furniture in Farmingdale but it seems sketchy to me that their prices are SO cheap! Anyone have good experiences with them?

My FH and I went to Bobs last weekend and it looks legit. Not sure why the prices are so low. We found a nice dinette set and bedroom set in there. We are still shopping around but Bobs had alot of nice things.

I've heard a lot of good things about Bobs and people's experience with them. Maybe they don't have a lot of overhead

You got really lucky with Raymour and Flanigan- we did our research and they had over 1,000 complaints a month!! We decided not to even go there if that was the case... we didn't
One place I wouldn't recommend is Ashley Home Furnishings- their sets tend to be all compressed wood which is not as solid as some other sets. We needed dining table chairs though and those were solid wood and really sturdy so we bought that from them- we're getting them this Saturday.
I also heard great thing about Bob's as well.

I love the set we got from Ethan Allen- to me nothing can compare.. even though it was a gift from FH's parents we know what it cost them since we picked it out.
And it's under warranty for like 5-10 years too if anything happens.

I can tell you where NOT to go.. The Place Furniture galleries in Farmingdale. I Had a horrific experience with them, and they refunded my $$. They lied to us and never even ordered our furniture and were never going to ship it.. They held onto our $$ for 6 weeks. Stay away from them. You can read up on them on r i p o f f r e p o r t .c o m

Re: Furniture Stores
Thomasville in Westbury ( I think it is westbury...the one b/w the source mall and roosevelt field on Old Country Road).
They were great and we love our furniture. Very good quality stuff.
Buy your furniture on a holiday weekend sale!!!!!! You'll save a ton of $$$
Edit:
Sorry...didn't see you were trying to steer clear of Thomasville...
I also hear nothing but great things about Bob's. One of my bm's got her living room set there and it is wondeful. Their prices are excellent for stuff that is good quality.

Friends of ours just got a set from Bob's discount Furniture for their finished basement. They found the prices great and the furniture was delivered pretty quickly (I think it only took about a month).
