My future MIL is opposite - I feel like she couldn't give a crap about ANY of this!!! Never brings up the wedding - never asks me how I am doing, if I need any help - mind you my mom lives in Florida so I am pretty much doing all this on my own - and working two jobs - all she ever talks about is her DOGS. She'd prob be more into this if one of her dogs were getting married!!!
WHy can't we all have happy mediums?
Thanks for letting me vent!

Yeah that could be annoying too...but I almost wish she had dogs to keep her occupied with .... since she really hasn't 'helped' ...except give me addresses for about 100 distant relatives that I don't even know and have been dating my fiance for 12 years.

OMG - I think we have the same MIL They gave me a TON of addresses for all these farty old relatives that they never see (i've never met any) and claim to not like! Mind you - they haven't offered any $$$ yet - but that's a WHOLE nother story!!!

I sympathize with you. Just remember you're marrying her son and not her!

My FMIL is driving me crazy too. She calls all the time (3 - 4xs per week) and she calls when my FH is not home because she wants to talk to me only. All she does is talk about her daughter and her new grandson, because she hates the daughter's boyfriend. DRAMA.
She asks me to keep secrets from my FH which really makes me feel uncomfortable. But she is not at bad as my cousins FILs, they told her they had 125 people so my cous gave the hall minimum count of 250 and then they turned around and said they only have 59 people now and they wont pick up some of the tab.

I also have a MIL from hell. If its not her way, I hear about it all the time. I still do what I want since I am paying.

Yep. Good point

They probably will. And if we have daughters they'll be on our case too. Even if we try otherwise. LOL!

My FMIL, doesn't ask me a thing either. Sometimes i get upset about it
but then i think about the MIL's that always have an opinion and i
prefer my situation.

Re: Future MIL on my nerves

Just a funny story to explain why my MIL is horrible, 1 of the many....she askes me if I am wearing a blusher. I say no. She tells me I cant walk down the isle w/out one in the church. I prefer not to wear one by choice so she gets upset but drops the subject. I told her recently I got my veil and she says ' a veil w/ a blusher, right?' Geesh lady, why dont you wear a blusher if you like them so much. Thats one of many.

VALENTINE GIRL TELL HER THAT HER COMMENT ABOUT NOT WEARING A BLUSHER IS NOT ALLOWED IS A LIE. MY FRIEND GOT MARRIED IN A ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH AND DID NOT WEAR A BLUSHER AND THE CHURCH DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT. I HOPE THINGS GET BETTER.

Re: Future MIL on my nerves

Hi ladies, we are all getting married on the same day but I wish my MIL cared, just a little! Her three sons are getting married within a year and a half of each other, so she is busy with everyone else (that is the way it feels). The first wedding was in August (they just moved into a new house this past weekend too) our is Feb. and the last one is in July. So I thik my FH and I would like a bit of attention. But I figured no interest is better than too much!

Thanks SP04...you would think she would want what makes ME happy but I guess not. Thanks for the info I'll let her know as she reminds me the day of, that I am not wearing one I dont let it bother me. I just cant believe her sometimes. She also told me I should wear my shawl that came w/ my dress down the aisle. I gave up after that.
