Future new families?

How are your soon to be new parts of your families? How big are they? Do you get along with them? I am very blessed and happy to be joining a great group of people. From the start they have been nothing but open and kind to me

, and we get along very well. I will soon have another mom and dad, grandma, 4 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law, and 5 nieces

and nephews

you are truly blessed and lucky....

i wish i was too!!! my future family has been very generous gift and money-wise, but they have caused quite some stress for me along the way....i only pray that it doesn't get worse after the wedding.....but, i know there is worse out there and i try to keep perspective...the girls on this board have been great with helping me do this!!!

Future family has been great so far! It is hard to get stressed by them since they live far away, but they are good about not really putting in their two cents about stuff. FMIL and FIL are great and also I will be getting 3 SIL and 4 neices and nephews.
So far so good.....

I'm gaining a new brother-in-law, half-sister in law and a whole bunch of step-parents in law.

What bothers me the most is that my FMIL doesn't seem interested in the wedding at all! I haven't even seen her since the engagement party (that was July 28th). Maybe my family is different - we're extremely close. I know it bothers my mom that my FMIL doesn't really make a fuss over us or anything wedding-related. Right now she's 'between' relationships, so she doesn't even like to do anything with FH & I and my parents - she doesn't want to be the odd person out. Hello?? You're the mother of the groom for pete's sake!! I would rather have her be a pain than not be involved at all.

We are lucky too - my inlaws are great. I am getting 2 brothers in law and 3 sisters in law, besides his mon and dad, and 2 grandmas. It's great for me b/c I am the youngest in my family and they are all younger than me, so I like that. He is getting my family (god help him.. lol), it is 2 brothers amd their wives, 4 sisters also all married, 15 nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew. We all, both families are close and everyone gets along great. We are both very lucky.

My new family is from a 6,000 person town in MA so we are very different. I like them but my way of doing things (ie: calling someone when you get a gift in the mail, giving birthday gifts) is not the same. From the moment I got engaged my Scott became Uncle Scott to my nephew but his family has not done that yet. I have to learn to not take their 'way' personally which is very difficult for me to do. But overall I get along.

I will be gaining a wonderful mom, 3 aunts, 1 uncle and some cousins. We both have very small families. I couldn't be happier. His family is really nice and I get along with everyone.

Well I have had some problems in the past, but I'm gaining grandparents which is pretty cool, and a brother-in-law, which with whom I am starting to get along with, so im happy about that. And some really nice Aunts and Uncles and Cousins in laws. My FMIL, still working on it... lol

I get a new mom, dad, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, one grandma, an aunt, uncle and some cousins AND one niece/nephew (FSIL is pregnant). Pretty excited. I get along really well with his siblings and their spouses. I like his parents a lot too, although (like my own parents) they can make me nutty at times.

He gains one crazy, very large extended family!

I am also very lucky to be gaining his family. They are really great. I will be gaining a mom, dad, a brother, 2 aunts and tons of cousins!

I feel very fortunate, I'm inheriting a FMIL I get along with pretty well, and so far, she's not trying to dictate the wedding

I'm inheriting a 10 year old son, who I love dearly, who shows me wonderful love and respect.

I'm inheriting a slew of brothers, and 2 grannies. YAY!!!!!!!!! ( I never knew my own !!)
FH is inheriting sisters he never had, another brother to add to his collection, a Dad that adores him, and a Mom in heaven smiling upon him.
We're both happy campers

I gain a mom & dad, sister in law, 2 brothers in law and 2 neices. All of whom I get along wonderfully!!!!!! The few other relatives that he has live over seas.

He on the other hand gets a whole bunch of in laws.......

I have:
my mom & stepdad
my dad & stepmom
2 brothers one of which is married
3 step brothers 2 of which I never see
all 3 are married with kids(4 all together).
The one of my stepbrothers that I do see has
a beautiful daughter who I love to death
(one of my flowergirls)
My grandmother
My uncle, aunt & young cousin(my other flower girl)
Another uncle that I rarely see.
Last but not least I have a 20 year old daughter
that lives with me.

Seems like I got the better end of the deal!

Both of our families live abroad, so we don't get to see them too often. Actually, FH hasn't met my family in person yet, he only knows my brother that lives in NY too.
I am getting MIL and FIL, pretty snobish but good people.
A nutcase SIL with her son who is spoiled teenager that adores my FH.
A nice BIL who might be getting married soon too!
They are nice people, especially BIL he is the coolest of them!

From my side, FH gets, my Dad and Mom, whom I adore! Two BIL, one SIL and her husband. The rest of my family is not that close to me, so I don't count uncles or aunts.

have been very prejudiced against me as I am 39 and my fiance is only 23.

My future father in law is a darling, my future mother in law is a bit domineering to to both their credits they have taken time to get to know me as a person over the last year and have welcomed me as their sons bride and acknowledged how happy I have made him and how well he has been doing with studies and career since he has been with me.I could wish for nothing more.

As to my family, my mum likes my fiance a lot which she never did with my ex's. The best bit of all is that my daughter of 16 has started calling my fiance her Stepdad ,, that acceptance means the world to me

So far my FIL's have been great. I met my future FIL and I have yet to meet my future MIL because she lives a long distance from my FH.

But what I will be getting are 3 BIL's, Step MIL, Step FIL, 1 SIL, and 7 nieces and nephews.

As time goes on, I hear from my FH that his side are getting very excited about our wedding.
