im putting in new patient info at my office and someone put engaged as their marital status....although we are both happy for you, my computer, nor do i, care that you are about to get married---idk i always put single still, until the day im married, then ill put married!

On things like Facebook where they have relationship status yes. But officially I am single until August 8 at around 2:30pm. I agree, its not a marital status.

if I have to check a box I check single bc legally I am single. If there is a box for engaged I check it, although i don't think I've ever seen one...as far as writing it in, I would still write single because being engaged doesnt change my legal status

we refer to each other as husband and wife sometimes eventhough we aren't married yet but no engaged is def not a marital status
