FYI for wedding invite postage..

FYI for wedding invite postage..

So I made pocketfolds for my wedding (5x7 sized ones) and I went to get them weighed to see how much in postage I will have to pay. Luckily I'm good with the 66 cent stamps, but what I didn't realize was that if you have any square invitations, you have to add another 46 cent stamp!

I didn't believe the post office at first, but I have two weddings coming up this October and just received the invitations in the mail. Both were square, and both had 66 cent stamps plus another 46 cent one!!

Just wanted to let you all know about this before you buy square invites. An extra 46 cents doesn't seem like alot, but when you have an RSVP stamp and the stamps on the outer, when you send out over 100 invitations it really adds up!!

Ugh that's so annoying. Invites are so expensive.

Yea the square invites are very pretty... I just don't see the point in the high postage for a piece a paper that will get thrown out lol

Crashing- This is why I didn't even look at square. I am also doing a postcard as the rsvp to save money on the extra envelope and the stamp. =)

This is what I'm aiming to do for my RSVPs. I can't believe its 46 cents more for square envelopes! geez. I'll definitely be doing rectangle invites.

I actually think the postcard invites are really cute! How much do you save?

I did postcards for my Save the Dates and you save about 12-13 cents. I can't remember exactly how much the postcard stamps were, but They were 30-something cents, I think 32 or 33... compared to the 46, it does add up to alot of money saved.

I made my invites, and when I printed the RSVPs on the paper I bought, it felt a little thin. If I had the correct paper for a postcard RSVP, I would've done that. But since I had already purchased one type of metallic paper, I decided to just buy envelopes and do standard RSVPs
