For those of you who have yet to register and would like to register at Fortunoff's I wanted to let you know that they sent me a really nice package with all sorts of coupons.. the one that I really liked the most was the coupon for a free make-up trial at Maximus!! hehe

Marcella...Maximus does a great job with make-up. Ask for Antonetta for make-up for your free trial she did a great job on me and my bridal party.

Yes, Maximus travels to you. They traveled to my hotel on my wedding day and were there at 4am sharp.

I registered online.. so it came about 3-4 weeks later I would say.. perhaps it's quicker if you register AT Fortunoff's

I registered in the store, they gave me the coupons for maximus, their jewlery and I think there are more.... that day! There are some cool savings in there!
Registering for everything takes some time... but it's fun! enjoy it!!! I've been back to Fortunoff's about 5 times and I'm still no where near done
Have fun!

Re: FYI-Fortunoff's (good stuff) =)
Dubliner - it took FH and I one day to completely destroy a registry and then it took my FMIL and I two days to repair it. Be prepared - the choices are overwhelming and if the two of you do not have a clear MUTUAL idea of what you want, it will take much longer (FH is lucky I did not end his life in the formal china section of Fortunoff's. He is literally lucky to be alive because I was PISSED at him!) The woman in formal china came over and said 'Can I help you with anything?' and I said 'Yes, can you make him disappear forever?' and she laughed and said 'I see it every weekend. Frustrated brides and bored grooms.' Let your FH play with the scanner gun - it was the only thing that saved him. Ultimately he deferred to his mother's better judgment and she and I were able to come up with a reasonable, beautiful registry that made ME very happy. My best advice to you is to give yourself two days to do it in the store...and I guarantee you will go back and edit and change a lot online.

Re: FYI-Fortunoff's (good stuff) =)
thanks for the advice ThrilledHere's what we did so far
1. We independantly created lists of what we would like ot register for(we both own our own places, and have a lot of stuff already)
2. I drove to NJ to a party 2 weekends ago, and FH was the passenger. I gave him the Bridal catolog and told him to mark all the china and silverware. I had done this already, and then I combined the two. We overlapped on 7 china patterns and 4 silverware
3. I registered us one day when I was there, just our names etc.
I thought we were under control by doing this 'up front' work, but the day I went there, I couldn't believe how much other stuff there is to consider

Re: FYI-Fortunoff's (good stuff) =)
I did my registry a few weeks after I became engaged. My FH went with me to another store to register and he couldn't handle it. He thought it was too much work.I showed him the most important things, and he liked them. Some changes I made, but after leaving one of the three stores I registered at, he told me to go home and finish the rest.
He will be surpised when we start getting gifts.
By the way, I got no coupons from Fortunoffs
