FYI... Wedding INVITES and POSTAGE

Ok... So I haven't been on in like FOREVER... so I don't know if this was already posted but I thought I would help.

But I know there was some back and forth when the date was for the Postal Stamps to go up.

Well it is officially May 14th. According to the USPS website, and the HUGE post office on 34th and 8th.

As to the price... I didn't get an exact number, 1 guy told me $.48 and someone else said $.43 so I am not sure but I am just going to be putting at least .50 stamps on my RSVP becuase it lands on June 1st and I don't know when my guest will be sending back their RSVPS... so I guess it ***** for me.

But just thought I would let you ladies know if no one already posted.

renee i sealed all my invites with a 38 cent stamp- too bad now they will just have to put extra postage thesemlves this is f reaking ridiculous!!! ( this may be an incentive to have early replies!! ) JK!

Re: FYI... Wedding INVITES and POSTAGE

Of course it will effect me, im mailing my inviations on April 20th and the R.s.v.p are due on may 23rd. I called the post office and she said on April 12th the .41 stamps will be ready to purchase. So i have to buy the higher rate just in case people send them after the 14th of may.

just make sure that your guests realize that they actually have to put extra postage on, b/c if they dont, then you may never get the response and it may not get back to them if they dont put a return address on the envelope (which i realized i never do for wedding rsvps).

I really think it's a 2 cent increase. I can't see it being any more than that.

It never occurred to me until I started wedding planning the amount of chaos caused by a simple postage increase!!!!

at least the 'forever' stamps will end this situation for good. The thing that stinks the most is the brides mailing out invitations over the next several months will have only one or 2 boring stamps to chose from!!!

Do the photostamps.com stamps automatically change in value after the april date?
I'm ordering photo stamps in May and just want to know.

hmmm interesting. I just ordered the stamps in a 'coil' with the .63 and the .39 together. My RSVP date is May 15th, so I think I am just going to chance it....
