Which one is best for wedding pics in November?
How much is the fee for Gantry Plaza State Park?

Any info would help.

we took our epics at Gantry in March. I went by the book and paid the fee because i was afraid that a park ranger would come over and tell us to leave. well turns out no one even bothered us one bit !!! i was soo mad i paid the fee. i highly reccomend not paying it but since its your wedding, you may want to , god forbid a park ranger told you to leave. they also made me get an insurance certificate from my photog and the lady was such a pain in the a$$ to deal with over at Gantry. She kept making me go back to my photog and have them change the wording.


the fee was $130

we took our e-pics at Gantry but that is a little more low key than taking wedding pics since there is more people involved and more equipment involved from the photographer's end. We didn't pay a fee and we weren't bothered by anyone, but for peace of mind I would get a permit to take pics there if you want to do them there. That way no one will bother you or give you or the photogs a hard time.

It's a great location for pics though!

we took our epics in gantry last september. the ranger was a total PITA and was almost about to not let us take pics there (she saw my photog with his photo equipment and started raving when i showed up)

She basically just wanted to assert her power and let us eventually take pics but without his lighting equipment . No big deal. If you're doing it for your wedding, i wouldnt take any chances, just pay the fee. I had been told it wasnt necessary to pay the fee when i called. If they tell you that, call back and speak to someone else to be sure!!

As for choosing between the two spots. They are very different backdrops. Do you want the city background or greenery? I would have loved to do OWG for my wedding but we booked our hall because of its beautiful property. i ended up not having enough time to thake pics outside, but thats another story.

I bike ride through Gantry ALL the time, and I've NEVER seen a ranger! I'm shocked. I think Gantry is better in November, however!! I wouldn't pay a fee!

I was initially going to do it at Gantry and we went to Flushing Meadow Park instead and i thought it was so nice there! So much more area to take pics especially with the sphere and fountains. Plus it's only 25 dollar for permit. Score! lol
