Gardasil!!!

Hey ladies... i got this today but i wanted to make it known cuz alot of women i see dont know about this!!

it is a vacination for HPV... its important for us to get it cuz i hear its not pretty to try and get rid of it once u have it!... GARDASIL is for girls and women ages 9 to 26... heres the website if u are interested in learning more... gardasil

just wanted to add... not to scare anyone... but if left untreated, HPV can cause cervical cancer. i want all of us 08ers to have healthy vajayjays!!!

Are we the only 2 that have weird names for the GYN??

ive called her the ginnie monster forever!! cuz i had to go when i was 15... i had ovarian cysts..and i HATED going.. then i had to go every 6 months for 4 years... so i got really close with her.. so thats what i call her and i crack everyone up when i say that

I actually was talking about this with my gyno yesterday. She said if you were single it'd be different but you don't have it now and you're engaged to be married so you dont need to worry about it. Plus theres three shots you have to take, the second one is after 2 months and the third is 3 months after that. For two of the three shots i will be 27 so kinda too late.

BUt yes I definitely do recommend it to women, especially tell your single friends, 1 in 3 women have it. I keep hearing of soooooo many people recently who have it.

i hate to be the one that looks at the bad side of things.. but people cheat and u never know what happens i hope it never happens but i want to be safe no matter what ... so its possible to come in contact with HPV at anytime... so i think its important for everyone to get... jmo!

TOTALLY agree with this! The woman I know who was just diagnosed will be celebrating her 10 year anniversary next year and neither of them cheated. Which means one of the two of them contracted it before they got married and it's just showing up now!

The thing is HPV can stay dormant in your system for YEARS and not show up until MUCH later.

yeah i understand. But I am having my 27th bday soon so i don't think i can do it anyways, considering i would only get 1 of the 3 shots while i am 26. I wish i would've known earlier because I would've done it but i just found out this week.

Well if you have it or ever did have it and youre cured now the HPV shot wont work for you just so you know. It is only for people who NEVER got it. So if i did get anything before him it wouldn't help me. Like i said thats not the problem, i am too old to get it now

Ill ask her again if theres something I can do, maybe if the second shot can be a little before my 27th bday then maybe it would be ok if i have a shot after the age of 26. I have to go back anyways, i am having hormonal problems i keep having to go back for ...also women should get a papsmear every year, i actually get it every 6 months.

lol its ok...i do agree with you 100% though, i think all women should get themselves tested and if they dont have it and are 26 and under to DEFINITELY get it. I have quite a few close friends and even not close friends who have this...There is treatment but it is a pain and why go through all that.

Actually, you know what did happen to me. I got a letter from my gyno on tuesday that the papsmear i took two weeks before came out with abnormal results, which usually does mean HPV or something of that nature. I was freaking out all night, next morning i called up and the receptionist was like no you have to come here to get your results and talk to the doctor. So of course again i am freaking out. After work Fi came with me to the doctors we were both worried. Doctor walks in and tells me its only an inflammation. I was sooo happy bc i thought it was HPV.

But why the hell couldn't they tell me this over the phone and have me stressing out and freaking out. Poor FI was worse than I was
