Garden City Hotel
I was at the Garden City with FH on Friday night for his work party.
The cocktail hour was really nice, the food was good, the turkey & lamb on the cutting boards were so tender & they had a pasta station which was really good.
The reception was held in their main ballroom, it was really lovely, they had spotlights shining on all the centerpieces on the tables and it looked really nice.
When we entered the ballroom, the salad was already set and I hate to say it, but the salad was terrible! It was a lettuce, blue cheese, duck & pear salad. The lettuce was wilted, the pears were horrible, you could actually taste the metal from the tin can they came in & the duck was really dry.
For our main course we were given the option of filet mignon or swordfish. I ordered the filet-it was really good-FH ordered the swordfish-it was OK, but not as good as the filet. Dessert was delicious, we had an apple tart with cinnamon ice-cream.
The waiters were attentive, and overall the evening was very pleasant.
