Did she ever have a make up trial at least with the family friend who did make up? or seen her work before?

Horrible that a couple of things went wrong, but hopefully it was all forgotten about by the time of the reception and everyone had a great time

The lady did her makeup for her bridal shower. She didnt like the way it was done then, but felt she couldnt say anything b/c her FMIL was paying for it (his parents paid for the whole wedding and it was well over 6 figures, so she didnt want to be a brat about some things i guess) but I def. would have spoken up regardless.

In the end it was a very nice time, I figured things were go wrong b/c its just what happens, cant expect every little thing to be the way you want it. But they were grateful and we had fun

I'm the same way. I don't like mixing family/friends and business because if something goes wrong or isn't what you like how do you tell them nicely it s*cks? I do the same thing and say I have things booked already or purchased something lol.

The reception itself was amazing though. The ballroom is hugeee and decorated beautifully. I felt like I was at the presidents ball or some thing lol Most of the little problems came before the start of the party so by that time everyone kind of put it behind them. i'll have pics up in a few days, my comp at home stinks so i'll have to do it at my parents house over the weekend

I feel bad for the bride. Hope she was ok with the things going wrong.
I've been to several holiday parties there in the ballroom, it really is beautiful, but yes the food was ehh.
Glad you able to make the best of it.
