Garden City Park; Anyone live here or know someone who does...important!

i'm really having a problem. A week or two ao I called the own of hempstead to get parking permits for the stewart manor train station. They siad they'd mail them. they never came. Today FH called and they said they don't even handle that and didn't know where to send him since there's no fankin square town hall or something, and they said he's not reay in franklin square anyway. He called Garden City, and they said he can't have a permit because he's not a garden sity resident. This makes no sense. He's not in a black hole. This isn't the UN or the vatican, he's got to be part of one fo the surrounding areas..anyone who lives here, what train do you take? How did you get the permit, and who do we call for help? THANKS!

How can I get information about parking at Long Island Rail Road stations?

Question
How can I get information about parking at Long Island Rail Road stations?

Answer
Most parking areas at Long Island Rail Road stations are under local town, village, or country control. The LIRR Interactive Voice Response System has parking information for all stations. Please call 718-217-LIRR (718-217-5477), 516-822-LIRR (516-822-5477), or 631-231-LIRR (631-231-5477) for details about individual stations.

I know from living in Garden city that most of the surrounding train stations are parking by permit. To get a permit you must live in the town the station is in and must go to the town hall and you can get a permit there.

I do know that mineola is a MUCH better station than some you mentioned many more trains. There is parking by meter at that station. I think it works out to be like $2-3 dollars a day. My father dislike the schedule for the hempstead line - so he goes in and out of merrillon ave - my mother just picks him up after work - that seems to be what MOST people do at that station as the car lines are long when a train comes in.

Mineola is now $4.50 a day in parking. (.25 per 1/2 hour, & 9 hours of parking)

I know 'cause I paid it this morning!

OMG DH will be PO'd - we are moving back to my apt in Dec and he planned on parking at the station instead of paying the money for two spots at our complex (one spot would bve in the far lot and so it was going to be a pain he was going to park on the street at night and at the station during the day) for that price we're better to pay for the spot and let him walk across the street

that's insane. FH works 10 hours a day, so it would be 13 hours of parking..that would be a lot of $$ in addition to the train and subway, plus gas, etc. I'm going to tell him to suck it uo and walk to stewart manor, and we'll check out merillon at some point. i keep hearing mixed things about what the parking situaton is there.
