Gas Range question..

Maybe someone can help me, I am going to try to explain as simple as possible. We have been in the house for 3 months, I never had a problem with the gas range but yesterday I noticed heat coming out of a vent, when I had the oven on - you would think it is suppose to but I never realized it before, and it is something I would have noticed, it was extremely hot air and there were beads of water on the range top, that never happened before. I know the air is suppose to come out of vents but it never did like this, I just don't want to pay $100.00 for a service call, but it is making me nervous. This vent I am speaking about is abehind the 4 burners and on the neck of the stove where the clock/temperature controls for oven/shelf. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

we have a gas range, and while it is usually hot where that vent is i've never seen water dripping from it. I would call the service person. It seems odd that it would be doing this. Good luck!

Re: Gas Range question..

that has happened to my gas range before...i think it has something to do with the difference in temperature in the room..like the room is cold and the stove is hot ...like condensation. I think..im not sure

also were u cooking anything on the stove top when it happened?

Elyssa - that definately could have been the problem b/c it was cool out yesterday, 1st cool day in a LONG time (out of the 3 months we have been there). I wasn't cooking anything else on the stove top. Also what I put in the oven was a metal plate from the refrigerator (it was very cold) - could that have done it?

i think so...it makes the most sense, i think it also could be what you were cooking .....but i could be completely wrong so I would see what other people have to say...

I agree about the heat coming out of the vent from the stove, that is normal. Regaring the condensation, my only fewar is that the droplets were actually gas. I would def get it checked out. If you call sears or best buy (or anywhere that they would sell your brand of stove), they could probably tell you if it is normal.
