I was expecting this to be a really rhinestone-embellished dress or pair of shoes!

I don't really think these plates are gaudy OR fabulous. They are a little busy for me, but it's hard to say because they are not my taste but I don't think they are ugly. I'm not italian .. maybe that's it?

Our everyday dishes couldn't be more different (plain white square plates, with slate blue and taupe solid accent pieces) but if you like them, go for what you like!

To give you an example, these are our every day plates if you are very italian and like that style i think they are nice!

I like more of a simple look, so i guess i would have to go with gaudy ( even though thats not my choice words, it is just not my style ! )

Maybe that's part of what I like about them too...that they seem 'Italian' style.
