A group from Canada came into the bar last night and were so happy about this ruling. One of the couples had been together for 12 yrs and were so excited that they could finally get married and have it legally recognized. It was so sweet!!! I hope that other countries will follow Canada's lead, but I doubt it.

Re: Gay marriage advanced in Canada
I think it is so sad how backwards and close minded this country is. We are a country that was founded on freedom but we deny people the right to marry when in love. I just don't get it and am ecstatic that Canada has ruled in favor of Gay marriage. FH and I went to Toronto, Canada last year to take part in his brothers marriage. FH's brother and his DH had been together 12 years and it was the most beautiful thing to see how happy they were to be able to celebrate their love with family and friends.

That's because people there realized that the state has no bearing on religious marriages and can't force the church to do anything they don't want to do, thereby preserving the religious marriage as heterosexual. but here people are too ...umm..something to realize that.
