I went to see my first florist yesturday. I went in knowing that I wanted sonething very simple and colorful since my colors are purples and periwinkle. Anyway I love gerber daisies and would love to have boutquet of just them or with other flowers mixed in. As soon as I said wanted Gerbers the florist said he never uses them because they fall apart so easily. Is this true? I've seen them in bouquets before and never heard of anyone having a problem.

A wedding I was in had Gerber daiseys as our bouquets. My bouquet fell apart after the ceremony (while we were taking pictures) - the other girls bouquets lasted just fine.

I don't know if Gerber daises and Gerberas are the same thing but my best friend had Geberas in the summer and they looked fantastic and the centerpieces were gorgeous! They are on the Jack and Rose website if you want to look!

hmmm.. I'm having gerbera daisies, and they'll be fine.. any flower, that's not fresh falls apart easy.. My gi brought me home gerberas and tulips,and they lasted over a week.. I think you'll be fine..

My florist also told me they aren't ideal in very warm weather, they wilt and can fall apart easily without water.
I didn't want to chance it.

Try James Cress Florist...he's very big on gerbas...I think they are great -the colors are wonderful.

I'm using Gerbera daisies in my bouquet...very inexpensive...our florist is $3 a stem for them..... and they last a while.....I'm so excited to use them

Gerbera daisies are so pretty!!! I don't know if this will help in terms of your bouquet, but when I've gotten them in arrangements before, each daisy stem had a clear tube around it for support- to keep it from wilting/breaking. Maybe if your florist put these tubes around them, you wouldn't have to worry about wilting.

I love gerbers too. I heard that they dont hold up well - so I asked my florist (john from flower michele) and he said they would be fine. Look at these - they are great
I'm using them in mine - and had them in my bouquet at my sister's wedding in May in San Diego - they held up beautifully! :o)

My sister had them for my wedding in AUgust.. which was a hot muggy day,, and they held up nicely.. I think that if you have them bound properly, they will be just fine.. also, you could have your florist place the stems into sleeves so it holds them up..

They should put a piece of floral wire thru the head and tie it around the stem so that if it were to break off you wouldn't know it. talk to them about it - I think they'd be ok and plan on using some in my bouquet
