GET 2 KNOW U- DAILY TOP 5!!! Hobbies.
Oh my GOD, it has been a total disaster here at work today. I'm sorry for my absence- I truly have done NOTHING this week due to my BOTW obligations (if it wasn't that, it would have been something else.), and since I'm not coming in Monday, I had to get some things done.
Speaking of not coming in Monday, of course I picked THIS weekend to come to Long Island to do some of my final vendor stuff. Now I hear- snowstorm.
I fear this is the final revenge of snowflake. Damn you, Snowflake.
So it looks like I'm going to try to leave here a bit early. Since I'm a crap driver in perfect conditions, I have to try to beat the weather, because god forbid a drop of rain falls, and I'm all over the road like Billy Joel after a few drinks, and Charles Barkley looking for a good BJ around the corner.
Sorry I have to rush this out, and I couldn't think of what to do. I was going to do fave bands/fave songs, but how do you really name 5? At least for me it changes daily. You know what? I'm doing it! If you don't want to answer, skip to the next one.
TOP 5 Bands/Songs
Mine are in no order, and are the ones that first popped in my head. some are old faves that I can listen to over and over. You know, this is half a$$ed, and I should consult my iPod, but I have no time!!
1. The Hold Steady.
2. The Mates of State.
3. Beethoven / Mozart. I can't make up my mind. Even though my fave classical is probably The Hebrides (Fingal's Cave) by Mendelssohn- if I just like one of his,is he a fave? Hey, Mendelssohn, you're a one-hit wonder. You're like Tiffany doing Mall tours back in the day.
4. Led Zeppelin. I mean, really. Just a complete classic. If you don't like one song, listen to the other 2000. There's one you'll LOVE.
5. Fleetwood Mac. Seriously? Fleetwood Mac? Yes, and there's no need to cop such an attitude about it. I think Stevie Nicks is a goddess.
6. Heart. Because Ann Wilson is the greatest white female rock singer EVER. Okay, maybe not EVER. I mean, Janis Joplin DID exist at one time.
Okay, I'm stopping, because I just can't go on. There are too many. I'll post more later, I shouldbe in Bklyn by 8 or 9.
Top 5 Hobbies!!!
I should have started this one first.
1. photography. I have a gift for photography. This is a joke between FH and me, because in reality, I take horrible pictures. But I love it so much, that I take millions, and a few are bound to be good.
The best part of my gift for Photography was when I went to Barcelona. I had taken my dad's camera, and didn't ask how to really use it, because, come on, I have a gift. So I shot 15 of the most glorious rolls of film ever captured.
Then I went to process them. I had loaded every roll wrong.
So much for my gift. Story of my life.
2. Art. Not creating it,but looking at it. I love museums and all things art related. Van Gogh is my fave, and below is my fave of all time painting, which I made into our invitation labels.
3. Talking. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. But when you get a great conversation going, you can't beat it. Is this a hobby? Get off my case! If you work at it, it is.
4. CAMPING. Should be number one. I love to camp like I love few other things. And it's the most pathetic form of camping there is. I car-camp, which basically means jsut drive up to a campsite, and take your stuff out of your car, and set up.
There is no 'hike' involved. There are also bathrooms there, so there is none of that 'poop in the woods' ridiculousness. That would totally take all the pleasure away from camping. And we are the worst campers of all time, because we take every amenity. Our tent is a 10 man tent, for the 2 of us. And we have one of those double high blow up mattresses, which is like 2 feet deep. Comfy! And we also have a stove with a grill and whatnot.
We make bacon. Can I tell you how awesome the smell of bacon is on a cold and lovely camping morning? No. Because God hasn't yet created a word for that kind of awesome.
Why did Dawesome's Creek just come into my head?
Anyway,
5. Eating. This is a hobby I have perfected. I have a gift for it, and I hope to enjoy it one day with all of you. Although, if you watched me eat, I hardly think you'd want to make any future plans with me.
Sorry for the rushed list, but I'm trying not to get fired, and at the same time, get out of here so I don't cause a weather and crappy driving related accident. Let me know yours!
