Get anything additional 'thrown in' in your RH Package??

I was just wondering....if anyone who booked their RH or anyone who went looking....did the BM 'throw in' something addititonal at the end to try to entice you to book with them, and if so, what was it????
At one hall, the BM offered us a 'free' chocolate fountain and at another it was additional dessert tables..... Hey i guess they try to get you with pastries and chocolate LOL

A few places I looked were willing to throw in extras....chocolate fountain..or just a lower price per head....
It is funny because they all seem to know eachother, and if they know you are interested in a RH that has a lower price they are definitely negotiable....
We didn't get any extras thrown in on the hall we booked though....I actually regret not trying to get the chocolate fountain thrown in....
Oh well!

yeah lots off the top of my head .... Chair Covers Ice Sculpture and tehre was more but i dont remember right now LOL

For all of you who had gotten a bunch of stuff thrown in...how did you end up getting it thrown in...???
FH and I are booking our hall this june- well when we pick one haha...
but I really would like to know how we can go about either lower the price or getting a bunch of stuff thrown in? I mean did you say well this place offered us this so we really cant afford it here and we love it but no thanks...and then they offered??
or did you just flat out ask them can you throw in any stuff??
haha I have no negotiation skills lol

-grins- well the gist is the guy who originally booked us was a poophead and got fired for insulting the new guy who 're-booked' us. So since the place uses an old computer system and shows only the guy who booked us (and who was known for screwing up wedding bookings) our new guy upgraded to premium stuff for a bit of spite towards other guy. We had to do NO haggling though i might have to because I want chair covers heh. it also helps we sent hima thank you card, which was greatly appreciated because they're so used to being abused, its refreshing to be appreciated.

We got cordial bar, ice cream station, ice sculpture. I'm working on an extra hour.

We got the chair covers, coffee cordial table, free room for the night ( at the inn), and Viennese Pastry Platters for Each Table 'thrown in'. There was a lot of sweet talking involved.

Just say this is my bottom line. What can you do for me. It also helps to talk to other reception halls and see what they are throwing in. After that you go back to the place you really want and tell them that you really want to get married there but can't see spending all this money when ...Put reception hall here... is offering so much more... and let the negotiations begin. Hope this helps

Well when you go visit the hall they should automatically add free things before you book so that will make you want to book with them even more. Thats what my hall did is give us free stuff before we signed the contract and after we booked. If they dont add anything, say 'well what can you do for me', 'I really want to book with you, what can you give me extra', etc etc

Chocolate fountain sushi chef instead of just four chafing dishes I can have a mexican station or a gyro station we are also getting the mashed potato bar plus we talked them down 17 dollars a person and they are giving us the ENTIRE day. Linens and menus
They walk around with an internation coffee station at the end of the night!! I love my place lol
You can def negotiate..some are a little bit harder then others. We booked ours 7 months before the actually wedding rather then a year or more, so it was easier to negotiate. Good luck

We got chair covers, viennese table, and a seafood bar at cocktail hour. What i want to find out is if the chocolate fountain is included in the viennese table. That is one thing FH and I will pay extra for. LOL

We got:
-an ice sculpture -two extra carvings at CH -chocolate fountain -wine bottles on each table -bridal suite at the fox hollow inn
I still wanna see if I can get the chair covers..I'm gonna try it at the last payment..will see though..

You girls have been so helpful really!! Negotiating is not any easy thing to do, especially when dealing with BM's who do what they do 24/7 for God knows how many years and your just starting out! Now I have an idea of what is reasonable to ask for
