They say typically about 20% respond no. If I understand your previous post correctly you only invited ~205? At that rate you'd be under your 200 min.
Sorry this is happening, hopefully you can get the hall to throw in some extras.

8 under isn't too bad. Do you have children coming that you can bump up from 1/2 price to full? If so, it's even LESS bad!

I have VERY similar numbers so far and I am thinking of it like this- 8 under at 150pp is 1,200 for 'nothing' (less even if u DO have kids to bump)

Now ask urself the q-
If the hall was charging u $1,200 extra JUST to get the bigger/nicer ballroom, would you do it?

FH and I would do it in a heartbeat so even though I am also a few under I am not even thinking about it!! Now if I was like 25+ under that would be a diff story!

Are all of your yes guests invited with a guest? You can ask them to bring a guest, which will increase your count.

Sorry you're getting so many no's. Sundays are tough for some people, but I'm sure your wedding will be perfect!!

Honestly you need to start making phone calls today!! I've been on top of it!! Calling confirming if they've received the invite and asking if they think they are going to make it.. I don't want to go WAY over but I want to confirm with those sent out first.. That worked for me.. You should try calling tonite.. Good Luck

I respectfully disagree with that. You can start inviting other people/guests tonight if u want but IMHO I think it's rude to make phone calls before the rsvp date, I mean after all if u wanted to know sooner u should have put an earlier date! People who I think would be an exception to that are super close friends/fam that you are 99% sure are just being lax on the RSVP- but ur mom's friend or some distant cousin- I would hold off til the printed date!

Re: getting alot of No's back

Luckily we have a low minimum of 125, and my mom invited over 220 people. A LOT of those people were courtesy invites that she felt she had to send to family out of state, and out of the country. So far as you can see by my count we have a LOT of no's! In our case we won't worry about our minimum, but we have a high percentage of no's. I hope you get more yes soon! For us people aren't making their hotel bookings, so it looks like we're either going to have to book the rest of the rooms ourselves in order to get the free shuttle, or pay for the shuttle , whichever is cheaper.

I think at 192 and lots of rsvps to go chances are good you will get to 200. If not, then as someone else suggested you can maybe bump up your vendors and/or kids from 1/2 price to full price to make up the difference.

If you do in fact end up under minimum still you can ask for some throw ins by the hall.. they may not be that willing to do so if your count is only a few less than your min but its worth a try.

And I t otally agree that you should wait until after the rsvp date to follow up with non replyers.

As for inviting 'B' and 'C' lists- how are you going to send invitations with the rsvp date already passed? This is not a rhetorical question lol.. i know people do this but how do you pull it off? I once recieved an invitation with a past rsvp date or realy close rsvp date and it was obvious I was a 'filler'..I actually was rather offended and would have preferred not to be invited at all. How do you do B and C lists without offending people or without them figuring out that they are in fact B and C listers??

Re: getting alot of No's back

You can definitely bump those vendors to full price. We originally had 150 people on the guest list. Now all of a sudden it's 196. The minimum is 150, so I really hope we will make the minimum..or at least come close.

I haven't done it and am pretty sure I won't have to but this is my take on it/ what I would do-

Ask co-workers and less close friends (maybe facebookers from ur past) just verbally. I would say something straight up like we ended up having some more room than we expected and if ur available I'd love if u can make it. It still sounds kinda bad though haha but I think it's better than sending an invite with 3 days to rsvp and no mention of why the hell it's so late!

I was also thinking that if someone on LI Weddings posted that they were under minimum at their hall which was also MY hall I would TOTALLY cover my plate to check out the wedding! I mean, althought they might rather have no one then have strangers at the wedding haha but we're not EXACTLY strangers, right? Just an idea.
