getting an invitation

if there was something that you really wanted to be apart of.....(ex. a social gathering, a group function etc)

Would you really go out of your way to get an invite or just wait and see if you do?

I think that is what I would do also. I never like to look too eager when it's a social thing (and to be honest if an invite was extended too long after the fact I would say no) but for work it might almost look bad to not try and get in somehow.

If I want to be invited somewhere it is usually because I want to be wanted there, more than I just really want to be there, so if I had any influence I getting invited, it wouldn't be the same.

i think pressing to hard for an invite to a social gathering or group would seem VERY DESPERATE!
