ETA: sadly, it was pulled...there was drama on that thread and LIW pulled it. That stinks

Oh wow they pulled that?? I remember the drama that was involved in that. Girls were getting nasty with each other!

Yeah, it was pretty bad.

I checked out a few places and honestly.. the value at Chateau Briand and Fox Hollow are unmatched.

I also heard Watermill has a great value. Crest Hollow Country Club is reasonable too.

I looked at like thirty places...soo lets see..ones that had food for good prices

Crest Hollow
Fox Hollow
Larkfield
Beach Club Estate
Danfords (further but great value and food)
Westbury Manor

All of them add in extras, so while the hour might not be included, it certainly may be added :)

Carly

is the $110 before the tax and grat?

woodlands quoted $119 all inclusive for a sunday night in september.

north ritz club was $120 all inclusive for a sunday in september.

I heard the timber point country club is like $65 per person - i am just not sure the quality of the food bc ive never been- but its by Lessings so should be okay.

I know that woodbury country club had a promotion where the vienesse hour is free if you book in May or earlier. if you like WCC talk to Jeff my BM.

i havent found a venue yet and im getting nervous. all the venues that i really love are out of budget because i want the venetian hour as well... leonards was giving me such a deal thats why its still attractive to me.. but i just was not crazy about the place and i feel like im caught in between a rock and a hard place. i was really shooting for may of 2012 but i think i might have to change my date to a winter month because the price goes down considerably. is there any venues you girls may recommend that may not be so expensive. i need to book by this week because i can not afford to lose another month budget wise. please help!!

I'm having some of the same problems... loving a place and not being able to afford it. I'm paying for the entire wedding by myself, but I was speaking with my father the other day and he had me write out a list of the things that were most important to me and in order.... The point is find out the things that you're not willing to sacrifice and the stuff you are, and then make your decisions based on that.

Check out Crestwood Manor in Northport. The menu is HUGE and looked amazing and you got SO MUCH FOOD for the (really reasonable) price.

Good luck venue hunting! That was the biggest deal for me. Once the venue is booked, it's all just details.

What is your range? Honestly if you are on a budget you have to think about what's more important to you: the month/season or value for price. If you are set on having your wedding in the Spring then you may need a compromise a bit on the venue... although that's hard for a lot of people. I know that it was more important for us to have a great venue at the right price... so that is one of the reasons that we are having a winter wedding.

I have to say that I checked out a lot of places for the months of Dec, Jan and Feb and they were all less than 100 a head.

We went to Watermill, Westbury Manor, North Ritz, Jericho Terrace, Fox Hollow, Chateau Briand, and a few others I can't really remember. All had GREAT prices for the less 'desirable' months. Although I LOVE the winter and the holidays so that played into our decision a lot as well!

Read some of the bride reviews from the budget brides. Soo many girls have had beautiful weddings on like 8k. I think it starts with your guest list. If you plan to invite 200 people, yeah, it will get pretty $$$$$. If your list is around 100, 75-80pp won't be so bad, and that may still be high depending on where you book. A lot of the RHs will negotiate with you on price.
